I wish we got Euro sleds like that up here in the frozen North.

We get even slimmer pickin's.

Edit- thats a pic of the new Scirocco concept? Well, we might get that... I thought it was an Alfa!

Truth.

Like the Swedish member who chimed in here today with gas at 2 bucks a litre... sheeesh!

I'd say car enthusiast on a budget = yeah, U.S. is still better

But enthusiast with money = Europe all the way... especially in Germany or nearby...

If you don't like it here, get the hell out. And take all your commie friends with you too. And your cars. I could use less traffic congestion.
It is still ugly.

/agree, and that car is ugly, everyone on this forum except for 2 kids love wagons. The new STI is ugly aswell but i know noone here agrees.

Actually, I don't like the Scirocco, or the STI, or the Rabbit, or a lot of those cars, either. The 08 Impreza lineup was universally blasted as ugly instantly on it's introduction, but now opinion seems to have calmed into a nice acquiescence to it. I still think it is horribly ugly, even the STI.

I do kinda like the Mini and the Volvo C30, but that doesn't mean I am going to buy one. But I can appreciate a clean, well-thought design, even if it isn't my favorite thing.

Other european cars like Alfas sometimes look nice and there are asian and euro market japanese cars that are cool, though. They and others are truly some nice cars that the US just doesn't get, and it is very unfortunate for the free-est, most prosperous market on the planet can't get certain products, for any price.

What kills me, is that some of those cars we don't get, are produced by overseas arms of "domestic" companies, like Ford and GM.

Thanks mostly to government over-regulation, and the expense that introduces, which destroys profit margin potentials, and cause businessmen to just not take the chance, and stay in their well-worn groove, and not venture into new territory.

America doesn't suck for that reason. Bad decisions, over-regulations, and their resulting costs are what SUCK. Those don't define America, not by a long shot.

america does not suck.

but the fact that we dont get cool cars like that, sucks.

This is the most well thought out, terrifically articulate, and wonderfully original post ever.

Jesus such whining. We have the lowest car prices and gas prices around almost. Go to the EU and pay VAT on your car purchase and then $6 a gallon and get back to me.
