mbach Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Hello all, The other day I wiped the dash of my 08 outback with black interior and today I realized that the top of the dash is all scratched, there must have been some debris in the microfiber cloth I used. What can I use to remove the scratches? Thanks
lfdal Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 What I did on my 04 FXT, was to use black show leather dye. Not polish, dye. I had to do it when the car was almost new after the dealer swapped out the top cubby. Try it someplace out of sight and see if it matches. The repair was invisible and held up for 4+ years until I traded the car. BTW - on my new 08 OBW a scratch appeared on the black plastic part of the door, courtesy of the dealer's techs and I was there when the jobber came in and touched it up with some black spray paint. Totally invisible. Of course the shoe dye is about $4.00 and the jobber said what he did would cost about $200.00. So the dye seems like its worth the effort. YMMV , and good luck.
