What is the deal with Logan's Run...

oops, sorry, double post...

 seriously though, is there a reason for Logan's Run on this forum? What I mean is that does this specific message board require a certain length of time for threads to be cleared automatically by the coding of this board (therefore, the Bosco (heh, most of the time at least) just locks them and moves them to LR to die) Or is clearing threads the moderators work? Will a thread be 'killed' after noone has responded? Or is it just a place for people to understand what certain threads are useless on this board? I'm just curious, looked for a search, but really just found a lot of funny, yet old for being locked, double posts - some were nasty though!

(...really because i'm at like 300 posts now, and i'm pretty sure 299 of them were useless. yet Logan's Run has yet to find my name:lol:)

i AM curious about how the OS of this message board works... I want to try an experiment integrating flash coding as a background... just to mess around, see what happens when i play with the code and try to mix in the "i think i'm growing in knowledge with" actionscript 3. (granted if you are running firefox etc with a script blocker, you will hate me for this lol)

hey i tried to search about it, and this part of the forum is dedicated to "Suggestions/Questions" about this forum in general. Which is exactly what I posted.

so i guess bosco, you can lock this thread, and i'll learn for myself what happens. sorry for wasting your time.

I thought it was a legitimate question, my new job will eventually have me doing code once I'm more knowledgeable about it. So sorry that I'm curious about how this board works. I didn't realize that a serious question would get this response. Again, I didn't mean to waste anyones time, nor did I put this up as a stupid joke thread either. Sorry.

Logan's Run is not searchable so it's a place for threads that are totally useless as opposed to just closing a thread in the forum it's in and leaving it there since it might contain something useful.

Thanks Gumby, I've notice that all of the threads in LR are from this month - would that mean that the mods move these threads to LR and the message board eventually deletes inactive threads by itself?

And I also assume that instead of just deleting a thread, it gets moved to LR so the OP doesn't post the same thread twice (and therefore can see his post has been moved.) Correct?

Try being here for a year at least before asking for access to the """forbidden zone""".;)

haha! I don't want a thread of mine to even reach the borders of LR, so i try to keep most of my asinine and trivial comments/questions to myself. (sometimes I slip up!)

but like they say "curiosity killed the cat." :)

edit: and honestly PGT, i don't see why me asking 'how this board functions' warrants that response. I know your a mod, and you have to sort through hundreds of double posts and useless threads daily, but I'm not trying to be a wise-ass and waste anyones time. My profession is growing to be more interactive by the day, and on my free time I am trying to teach myself internet based coding and I am curious about certain aspects of how things on the internet work - so I see no reason why my question was not admissable, besides the simple joke saying "oops double post sorry," and I posted this in the section of the forum I thought would be most appropriate. I'm not attacking you or anyone else for that matter with this post/thread either (oh yea, i'm not a student at psu either. and don't know what your problem is with the school. you gotta be a michigan/osu person eh ;)) So, again, if you wanna lock this thread, go for it. Like I said before, I searched to find the answer, and couldn't come up with anything.
