Aodhan Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Okay so I had a CompustarPro Alarm installed on my LGT but the problem is with the factory alarm. We can not manage to disable it and its interfering with the CP. Right now I have to use both remotes with the car. Has anyone else run into this problem or have any ideas on what to do. I will be going back to the shop with it but its going to be a few days.
rice_rocket Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 If it's the same as the 06, it's a Yellow/Red stripe negative wire in the driver's kick panel. This is what my diagram says.
aldouse Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 just switch the factory alarm to valet mode, and you're good to go. thats what i did for my 05. -- yay for the sig! -- my garage!

LGT Dave Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Okay forgive me for being retarded.....how do I do that? It's in the owner's manual in the Keys and Doors chapter.
whobaru Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Okay forgive me for being retarded.....how do I do that? On most alarms, you open a door, turn the key to the ignition position (but don't start it), then press the valet button once. If it's a valet switch, just flip it to the other position (generally "off"). If that doesn't work, you can also open a door, press lock, then unlock, then lock. With either method, watch for the Compustar led light to turn solidly lit (usually solid red). If the light is not lit, the alarm can still activate. If the light is constantly lit, you've been successful.
Aodhan Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Well I managed to get the factory alarm to valet mode but now the compustar is freaking out. It still thinks one of the doors is being opened unless i hit the lock button on the factory remote as well. So frustrating.
whobaru Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 The instructions I gave are how to put the Compustar in valet. If the Compustar is in valet, you can re-activate the stock alarm with no problems. If you can't get the Compustar disabled, just pay a shop to rip it out. They usually don't charge much for that.
LGT Dave Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 ^^^ I think he's trying to disable the stock alarm system and still keep the Compustar system working correctly.
whobaru Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 oic...you need to connect the factory alarm disarm wire of the Compustar to the factory alarm disarm wire of the vehicle. That's the most help I can give without knowing wire colors/locations.
