DMoneyTrain Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Hi all, Found this on the under side of the boot (trunk) of my 08 Liberty sedan (Legacy).. Is this what I think it is? A 7" sub bracket?
DMoneyTrain Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 After further investigation, looks like the hole diameter is exactly 7", enough to squeeze an shallow 8" subwoofer into it. Has anyone used this to install a sub in the parcel shelf? Is there a subaru factory accessory that installs into this location? Alex
rao Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 It is used on JDM Legacies that have the McIntosh system. Several people have installed subs there. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
FishingFiend Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I would say that the rear deck would need a good overhaul (dampening/reinforece) to handle a sub with decent power. I believe many of us removed the factory cover that's bolted in and left it open to allow the sub notes to enter the cabin.
DMoneyTrain Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 I see, what sub is installed there with the McIntosh system? An active 200W or similar? Or does the McIntosh head unit amplify it?
