RobY
Im not sure if this is normal but once the car is warmed up my radiator fan is on all the time in local stop and go driving even in 40 degree weather. My WRX never did this. The temp never reaches above the halfway point so I guess that is good. Im wondering if it is a problem with one of the fan relays or temprature sensor. I stopped the car after the temp indicator said the car was fully warmed up and put my hand against the front of the radiator and it is cool to the touch. Id say it was around room temp. legandrex
The only time I have experienced this is when A/C is on. Have you checked this?
RobY
yes the AC was on... but the fan continued to spin several minutes after i turned the AC off and did not stop until I shut off the car.
Guest *Jedimaster*
You sure the fan was still running/ With the bearings they have on them, they will continue to spin for a while after being powered off.
RobY
yeah it was still running only with the engine on. You can pop the hood and clearly it is whining away. I thought these things are only supposed to run when the temp sensor determines its too hot. Its running the minute I start the car in 37 degree weather with the car completely cold.
