SBT Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 The Spec B is a lot faster What he said... - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
whitetiger Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 The Spec B is a lot faster thats a conservative estimate.

rao Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Those performance numbers are NOT for the auto Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
godwhomismike Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 Those performance numbers are NOT for the auto I'm aware of that. Although, I am assuming the auto will be .2-.3 seconds slower, which would still be very impressive. .
rao Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I'm aware of that. Although, I am assuming the auto will be .2-.3 seconds slower, which would still be very impressive. . I'd bet on at least .5 second slower, especially to 60, but either way it will be a very nice car How would it do while racing in the snow Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
godwhomismike Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 I'd bet on at least .5 second slower, especially to 60, but either way it will be a very nice car How would it do while racing in the snow According to BMW: Performance Drag coefficient 0.33 Cd Top speed 150 mph Acceleration 0-60 mph – Manual transmission 5.1 sec Acceleration 0-60 mph – Automatic transmission 5.2 sec Seems like they're estimating it to be within .1 second of the manual. .
rao Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 We will see. They also estimate it to be .4 seconds slower than C&D, C&D must have been using that Spec B pixie dust. for the first 6 months or so you won't be able to get anywhere near sticker price on those, but after that it should drop off. godwhomismike Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 As for winter, I am assuming you can go with 17" wheels and 225/45/17 winter tires all around. .
rao Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 As for winter, I am assuming you can go with 17" wheels and 225/45/17 winter tires all around. . I was just kidding A friend of mine has a 335i and he has run flat winter tires and has been very happy with the set up and we have seen a lot of snow this season. Sponge Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I am looking forward to checking this one out...I am probably too tall for it though My vB Gallery
CasopoliS Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Nice little car, sweet actually, but I would rather do something else with $40k
PhilT Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I'll wait for the 135 Xi Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
StoplightAssassin Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Awesome performance, but I'll stick with my Subie for now. I read in Car and Driver the 335i AT they tested was actually quicker to 60 and in the quarter than the 335i MT they previously tested. So, the 135i auto might end up being quicker than the stick. Here's the article for the 335i (and yes I know there could be hundreds of variables for the difference numbers): http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/performance_files_tested_by_c_d/2007_bmw_335i_coupe_automatic_short_take_road_test
camber Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Nice stats.... I hope any of you guys that consider this car aren't over 5'10". The 1 series makes the Mini interior feel monstrous in size. I guess you could get the cab version and just drive with the top down:lol:. The Miata is probably a better fit for most people.
camber Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Seems like it'll be an interest but more expensive option to the EVO and STI crowd. What's up with fuel economy? EPA city/highway driving: 17/25 mpg I thought the new BMW turbo were turning in some impressive mileage numbers.
chenc544 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Prices out to about the same as the G37: Yeah but G37 is purrrrrrty and 135 is fugly...
chenc544 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 What's up with fuel economy? I thought the new BMW turbo were turning in some impressive mileage numbers. 17/25 is better than both the STI (17/23) and Evo (16/22). Which is somewhat impressive for a V6 twin-turbo.
camber Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Well, the EVO and STI are fulltime AWD and larger cars.
camber Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Yeah but G37 is purrrrrrty and 135 is fugly... I saw it at the Toronto Car show. My sister thought it was strangely proportioned(she like the new STI better:eek:) and my girlfried thought it was, "very cute." Looks like it'll be fast in a straight line though. BTW - The new STI/Imprezza has useful rear seats for adults now!
