SubLGTaru Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I'm going to be installing my catback exhaust this saturday and just want to double check what my torque specs should be for each piece. This is what I am assuming but probably not correct on. Downpipe to midpipe = 26ft.lbs. I did not see the midpipe to y-pipe torque specs or the y-pipe to muffler torque specs.

Mid-Pipe to Y-pipe - no spec because the stock car doesn't have a joint there y-pipe to muffler - 35.4 ft.lbs. Downpipe to mid-pipe is 26 Have fun Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
harman.khinda Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I over-torqued mine, any repercussions?
caramall2 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Maybe I'm shooting from the hip, but I don't think it will be a big deal on the exhaust. I put mine one without a torque wrench.

SubLGTaru Posted February 21, 2008 Author Posted February 21, 2008 Mid-Pipe to Y-pipe - no spec because the stock car doesn't have a joint there y-pipe to muffler - 35.4 ft.lbs. Downpipe to mid-pipe is 26 Have fun On the new HKS exhaust the y-pipe is separate from the mid-pipe so there is going to be bolts holding them together, so I should have to have a torque spec for that. I know the stocker it is all together from y to mid.
