bsdzine Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 My new job requires me to park outside in the cold, yet it is literally .1 miles away from the highway entrance. I've noticed my tires are flat-spotting, and when i start my car cold I will drive it around the parking lot a few times before jumping on the high-way. Even after a few circles around the lot, my tires will still be a little bumpy until I get cruisin' at highway speeds. Is it bad for your tires to still be "bumpy" (aka in the process of un-flatspotting if that's a word) while I am jumping on the highway and accelerating up to speed? I know it seems like a stupid question, but I'm just not too sure if I am doing damage that I cannot see to my tires. I'll keep it under 3k rpms until my car is warm, but I'll get up to about 75 (which is the average cruising speed on this highway) and my tires will be bumpy for about a mile or so. So again, is this ok? Am I just being a worried debbie downer? Or should I do a few more laps in the parking lot and have my co-workers wonder why I get off work and drive around the parking lot for a few mins like a crazy guy? Thanks! brian
