ive noticed that there is a decrease in boost for the ACN maps so i flashed to stage 2 standard 91 octane map. i hear i might get "spark knock". what is this "spark knock". is it unhealthy?

seems like there is nothing wrong w/ the users who use just the standard map.. are you AP owners living in ACN using ACN maps? any feedback appreciated thanks.

You are much better off using the ACN maps if you are addled with CA/NV/AZ 91 octane. Knock is otherwise know as pinging and detonation. Without trying to explain the whole concept to you, it is bad and something to avoid. Go back to the ACN map or better yet get your car custom tuned. That is the best way to make sure your particular car is running at its' best power and reliability wise.

It's not a huge difference and certainly not worth the added risk of running your car on a map tuned on a different fuel than you are getting from the pump. The ACN maps just offer an additional safety margin for our crap fuel.

i see. is there a significant power difference between the two?

There will be if you burn a hole in a piston due to knock(pre-ignition)

BTW, even though Rallitek might call it a Protune map, it really isn't. It is just another off-the-shelf map. A real Protune is a custom map that is done for your car exclusively. BTW, the one car I've seen on the dyno with a Rallitek map on it knocked a ton. I hope you have better luck with their maps on your car.

well, log the car... but shart DA changes typically coincide with knock... ie DA's running in the 6s real steady then a sudden spike down to 2 then back up to steady 6s.

It's a little hard to tell if you are getting knock just by looking at the DA since you don't know how your tuner set up the DA table. It could be the same number across the board or it could be lower or higher in spots. Mikeyan is correct though, if you go from a high DA number down to a lower one for a bit them pop back up, then it is probably knock.
