BoroGRIP Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Does anyone know how the 60k warranty work and what it covers? Im told it doesnt cover anything that isnt internal from engine to tranny. So if its a sensor or Turbo, I get screwed. any help is appreciated.
Opie Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 What year & model car? Powertrain doesn't cover sensors and only covers the turbo's on cetain model years.
gianspi Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 At 40k, I went in with a check engine light. 3 hour diagnosis of "we don't know" and came out with a $180 bill. Powertrain doesn't cover shit. From now on I'll do my own diagnosis. I only went into the dealer because I thought at 40k I would still have a warranty. enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.
Opie Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 05 LGT Limited 5spd MT Powertrain does cover the turbo on yours, but not any sensors. At 40k, I went in with a check engine light. 3 hour diagnosis of "we don't know" and came out with a $180 bill. Powertrain doesn't cover shit. From now on I'll do my own diagnosis. I only went into the dealer because I thought at 40k I would still have a warranty. There is nothing that causes a Check Engine light that would be covered under the Powertrain Warranty. It covers Engine, Transmission & Differentials internal parts and a few other items like Wheel Bearings, nothing more. Everything that is covered is listed in your warranty booklet and is available online for you to see what is covered before you take it to a dealer. And at 40k you do still have a warranty...but only on the specific parts the Powertrain Warranty covers.
Hanger Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 The service guy at my dealership suggested me to get diagnostic next time i bring my car in for oil change, because it'll cost me $100 for diagnostic when i complained about the handbrake being loose ○ ○ ○ Instagram: itshangertime :spin: ○ ○ ○
