wimwam Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Not bad but I would see if he would throw in the extended warranty or something unless you are going to mod the crap out of it Take it for a spin yet?
eK-HaRaMi Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 actually it is including the extended warranty.......Its a 3 hour drive...he insist I come take a look, if I dont like it...he pays for my gas..lunch....he guaranteed its great...!!
wimwam Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hey nothing to lose, guess your making a three hour trip
eK-HaRaMi Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 guess so...lol....anything to look for?
sickdrift Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I'd see if the banjo bolt/filter has been replaced yet since subaru is recommending they be replaced every 30k. It's a small cheap part if they want to sell a car.
wimwam Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Test drive it and listen for interior noises (ie creaks).

Dealer says its in excellent condition, and says if I see any blemish he will lower the price....he's very confident he was asking 21+fees...i got him at 21otd...grab it??? For a point of reference, I bought my 2005 NON-limited 5EAT with a good title and only 9,000 miles on it, in August 2006 for $19,000 or $19,500 from a Subaru dealer in Acton, MA. If that 21k includes state and local taxes, it may be a good deal. I don't know what your fees and taxes are up there. My price was not an OTD price. When I got the car back to 'Bama, I had to pay a total of 3% taxes, divided between state and county. It doesn't sound like a great deal to me. You should work on him a little harder, unless he is throwing in an extended warranty or something. Edit: I just saw that the car comes with an extended warranty. I guess that adds about $1000 to the package.
eK-HaRaMi Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Yup that 21k inlcudes all fees and taxes AND includes a 100,000 certified pre-owned warranty. Im actuallu headed out there tomorrow, and Im trying to talk him into throwing in a car seat for my son value upto $125...u think he'll bite??
LegacyMUN2k6 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Did you goto Village Subaru, that place sucks will never purchase from them ever again.

I don't think I'd trust somebody else with picking out my son a car seat! If you have one picked out for $125 and think you can swing it, go for it. We just bought two convertible car seats for our twins, Recaro Signos. Those things cost us $260 each, from the cheapest online place we could find. The comparable Britax seats were about $10 or $20 more. Maybe the car seats for older kids are less expensive. I haven't gotten there yet. Good luck!
eK-HaRaMi Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 OK..So I almost made the biggest mistake of my life.......So I decide to grab this deal I have been bragging about. First time I saw it, looked fine to ME....Today I took my buddy who has been working in a bodyshop for the past 10 years with me to make sure everything was in the up and up....OH BOY..Thank God he came!!! First He automatically notices the right front fender is not aligned to the hood and noticed the inside fender screws are stripped like it has been taken out and put back on.....THEN he notices the trunk is not aligned perfectly to the rear of the car. It is lifted approx about 1/2 inches....Then the dealer mentioned the brakes were replaced and rotors were turned...Well He lied about that too...he says OH we just turned the rotors..BS.....I thought how can you turn the rotors and use the same pads?????.....Whatever....then my buddy opens the trunk and looks at the spare tire housing.....then my buddy asks the salesman "So who was the bodyshop that fixed the rear damage???"...he proceeds to deny and deny everything...BS..I left in a hurry...thank god Heres the car: http://www.goldrushchevy.com/detail.cfm?ID=306285&R=6.5&T=60
spacejunkiehsv Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Good for you man. You should buy that guy a beer or SOMETHING.
tytek Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Did the dealer reimburse you for gas and lunch?
