SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I got my car photo shopped for the O.Z. Ultraleggeras 17's. I have the 4 colors that these wheels are made in. Just wanting your input and opinions/advice anything you would change etc... BLACK http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/speedway24/cars/ozblack.jpg GOLD http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/speedway24/cars/ozgold.jpg MATTE SILVER http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/speedway24/cars/ozmattesilver.jpg BRIGHT SILVER http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/speedway24/cars/ozsilver.jpg
whitetiger Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I pick bright silver cause thats what i got http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1135/1431435615_42cd3fcfcb_b.jpg
lamw001 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 The black is not bad too because of your full tinted windows.
SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 whitetiger, what size tires you running? 245/45/17? What springs are you lowered on?
Spec B Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I like the matte silver followed closely by the bright.
whitetiger Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 whitetiger, what size tires you running? 245/45/17? What springs are you lowered on? ^im running 245/40/17 on tien flex coilovers with a mild lowering. this year i will be lowering my car more.
SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 What made you decide to go with a tire that wide? Just wanted better grip? I am just not sure what color to go with, I have already factored the gold out.
whitetiger Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 well, for a summer setup, the wider the tire, the better and 245 is about the widest you want to go on a 8" wide rim. so that combo is chosen for the best performance results. There is no sidewall buldge and i dint have to roll my fenders, so this setup is ideal.
SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 I ran a test to see how it would change your speedometer reading on the tire setup you are running, and it's not far off from what the stock speedometer reads. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Seems like it is one of the closest speedo readings to stock compared to any other setups.
SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 Stock Tire: 215/45/17 Sidewall: 3.8 in Radius: 12.3 in Diameter: 24.6 in Circumference: 77.3 Revs/mile: 819.0 Your Setup: 245/40/17 Sidewall: 3.9 in Radius: 12.4 in Diameter: 24.7 in Circumference: 77.6 Revs/mile: 816.0 Speedo reading with your setup is 0.4% too slow. When your speedo reads 60mph, you are actually traveling 60.2 mph. This is by far the closest setup to stock that I have seen. Even if you change your stock tire from 215 to 225, that is even further off.

Legacy05 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I think the gold looks pimp, but I hope the car is lowered afterwards
SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 welcome to last year. Thank you for not being sarcastic.
SubLGTaru Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 I will not have it lowered right afterwards, but I will in the future.
DukeTrout Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 What, no bronze? Ich bin echt viel netter, wenn ich nuechtern bin. Echt!
V4LG7 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 ZZZomg! where are your brakes??//11 Those don't look black, they look more like GM. I actually like the gold.
SubLGTaru Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 I decided to just take my brakes off, figured that I didn't really need them. It's all pedal for me, haha. I just think Gold would attract too much attention, not sure if that's what I'm looking for. UGGH I hate deciding what color of wheels to go with, it's like the toughest decision for me.
V4LG7 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I'm on the same boat right now. Except that I've decided on the color, but not the wheels. I'm so indecisive! I typically don't like gold, but the black isn't black enough for me. silver is just boring! What about a different wheel?
SubLGTaru Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 gold bbs sti wheels may look good, maybe i do want gold..... maybe i do want to attract attention, I may do the gold utltras, cuz silver is boring you are right, and black is just too much black IMO.
whitetiger Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 the ultras wheigh the same as the bbs sti rims and are cheaper to buy. get the ultras.
SubLGTaru Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 bbs would be nice, but they are expensive. Ultras are nice looking too and that's really what I want...I already know your opinion on color, but I would be just another OBP with silver wheels. Val-z you may have changed my mind, I know there will be haterz on the gold but they can hate all they want.
V4LG7 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I do like BBS STi wheels, but I can't justify spending $1k on them.
whitetiger Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 gold is fine. I chose silver to blend in, but gold looks very nice on a OBP sedan. doo eet!
