So some of my Saabaru buddies and I (and maybe some awdpirates) are heading up for some ice racing on Sunday 2/17.

Check out the website for rules, restrictions, and all that crap...

We talked about meeting up at the park-n-ride off of Exit 259 on westbound I70. There's a conoco gas station, we could meet in the lot across the street from the conoco around 6:30am, with a plan to hit the road by 6:45am.

No, Ice skates actaully WORK on ice.

lol, so true.

i might be down to do it for a bit, it's on the way to the mountains so i could race around a little then do some snowboarding for the rest of the day!

can i get away with wearing my snowboarding helmet?? lol this is what i found:

1. Street Stock

This class was designed for novice drivers. Vehicles are "stock" which means they're street legal and not designed/set-up for ice racing. Tires must be also be stock and not designed for ice driving. If you have special ice tires (ie, Blizzak, Nokkians, soft rubber compound) you will be placed into Pro Street Bare Rubber. This class runs "slick" tracks and laps are over 40 sec. Helmets are not required in this class.

Snowboarding helmet might work, I dunno.

FWIW, if anyone is planning on going up there, I'm just gonna head straight up there (not stopping at the park-n-ride), and I'm planning on getting there about 7:30.
