Urge Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 So my baby has 130K+ miles and it's time to start considering replacing those parts I've worn-out over the past eleven years. She still has the original clutch (I'm amazed), engine and suspension components. I'd like the group's thoughts on some mods for a daily driver that will enhance stock performance somewhat, but not turn Jordan into a street racer. Specifically: Clutch upgrade (if any)Suspension upgradesEngine modsTires (currently running Kumho Ecsta ASX, but considering Conti Extreme Contacts - I live in New England, so snow traction is a consideration)This car has been freakishly good to me and I simply refuse to part with her. Instead of monthly car payments for a new ride, I want to spice up what I have for now. I lucked out and found a fully loaded model, 5spd with leather back in 1997, so appearance-wise I'm satisfied. Any and all suggestions are appreciated; thanks everyone!
legacydispatcher Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Trade in for a '08 LGT. Sorry I had to. I have a 2.5i and all us N/A Legacy get harassed I have to pass it on. LOL Sorry Suspension/Tires/Brakes would be the best. I would not worry about the engine at this later stage. Clutch. hmmmm only if its slipping.
Urge Posted February 3, 2008 Author Posted February 3, 2008 Oh trust me, that thought has crossed my mind. That or swapping the engine out for one from a WRX. Clutch is not slipping yet, but the throwout bearing is beginning to make an occasional chirp.
massdrewski Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 I have a 98' LGT. Wasted enough money in it and gave up and bought an 08' SE N/A. fun to drive and not a money pit. Let me know if you need any parts etc, or if your looking for a parts car. Mines still stuck in the front yard as an eye sore to my Rich neighbors. (looking out my window) thats right! im allowed up to 2 unregistered vehicles on my property!!! hehe, Just had to say it.
