Sponge Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 As a fan of the orginal show as a kid its pretty cool they are bringing back the show...w/o Hasslehoff thank God What do you think of the new Kitt? http://67mustangblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/knightrider_edmunds_cover.jpg Unsure of it not being a TA...can't believe GM didn't insure it wasn't the new Camaro at least. Here's a little story on it... http://67mustangblog.com/?p=896#more-896 Can't wait to see the new show...hope it doesn't suck:lol: My vB Gallery
IwannaSportSedan Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Ford paid a lot of money to get the mustang into that slot. And GM doesn't have a 4-seat coupe ready. (gotta have a back seat for little johnny, while the protagonist hits on his poor unfortunate, yet attractive mom in the passenger seat. It wouldn't be Knight Rider without that.)
JSaladino Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 what GM SHOULD have done, was take that sexy Camaro they're waiting to unleash, and bastardize it a bit into a new T/A. just a thought tho. as for the ford....
pillboy Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Can't wait to see the new show...hope it doesn't suck:lol: It is still ugly.
John M Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 How can you claim to be a fan of the original show yet hate Hasslehoff? You can't have one without the other. Anything else, like this show, is a ripoff of a proven idea in order to make quick money. It's fitting though - writers couldn't think of anything new so they remade an old show; Ford's designers couldn't think of anything new so they remade an old car. They deserve each other. Meanwhile the viewing public has dozens more horribly remade shows to go. You just know there's a sad remake of the A-Team on the way. Who needs imagination and new ideas when you can warm over the old stuff?
Knight705 Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 i wonder if all these remake were writers secret plan before they went on strike? writer horrible shows then once on strike the networks will have to produce them since there is nothing else.
andrew.anderson Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 How can you claim to be a fan of the original show yet hate Hasslehoff? You can't have one without the other. So you are a fan of this>>> http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d175/AndersonAndrew/Hassleholf.jpg
iyalla Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Thats like remaking Airwolf and using one of these http://www.guncopter.com/images/mi-24-small.jpg The great thing about KITT was how stealthy he looked. LOL:lol::lol:on the HassleHoff picture. Anybody ever see the Sponge Bob movie?
IwannaSportSedan Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 http://www.perotti.nl/images/alwin/airwolf03.jpg All your base STILL belong to us. That Hind is toast.
05GT Guru Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 There wil lbe a new Trans Am but they would have to put off the movie for a while to wait for that
DickDastardly00 Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Lol, this new show is going to tank. A Ford? Someone tell me just what the hell they were thinking. And the new Michael Knight looks likes a complete doofus. Horrible idea from start to finish. Even the old Viper TV show will be better than this http://www.geocities.com/hoagie100/ad.htm I give it 6 episodes before it gets cancelled ♪Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds.♫ -Bob Marley, Redemption Song
Sponge Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 Oh Crap I forgot about Viper! LOL My vB Gallery
kopy_kat Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 new camero will be save for KITT's bro.. KARR!! yeah!!
Knight705 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 hahaha that would be sweet. and this is only a tv movie. i don't think they had any shows written b/c of the writer's strike.
kopy_kat Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 so.. anybody watched it?? how was the show?
Sponge Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 I did...it wasn't bad. Mediocre acting, hot chick in it again, following a simliar story line, good chase scene, the car is pretty cool, a lame Hoff part that felt cut short and way too early to be brought into the show... I'll watch it a few more times I make a judgement My vB Gallery
IwannaSportSedan Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Pretty darn campy. Lots of fodder for perennial haters, and it wasn't "Gone With the Wind," by any stretch. But for kids, and people who aren't looking for depth in the storylines, it might be passable, much like the original, which wasn't exactly deep, either. If you could suspend enough reality to believe the old "super-pursuit-mode", you can probably enjoy this new series. It was a giant Ford commercial, though, but NBC has been going nuts with product placement for a while now. Ford shelled out some cash for this. And Michael Knight (yes, played by the Hoff) even makes a brief appearance.
pillboy Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I thought Gone With the Wind sucked big time. It is still ugly.
Jerboa113 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 havent seen the show yet, not a big fan of the uh.. square.. mustangs. That pic looks like it has a spoiler on top of a spoiler am I seeing things? GM have the camaro ready? are you serious they've been "in development" with that miserable failure for like 25 years now. They'll never release it! it like duke nukem forever! its too bad too.. I always thought the firebird was really cool because of that show.. and if I see re-runs of it even today I still think the firebird is cool. The whole LEDs on the sides of the gas pedal seem really corny now tho. "The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." - Plato
IwannaSportSedan Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 You are not seeing things. Spoiler on a spoiler, black painted wheels, side scoops all the way onto the doors, blocked up front grille, strakes in the headlights (in a really odd place, btw) and the whole works. And it usually drives around without lights on in the 'movie'. http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/nup_113130_0067-1.jpghttp://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/lores_kitt_3_4view.jpg Vs http://www.riekmann.prohosting.com/magazin/knight_rider/kitt_vorne_1.jpg But it could have been this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=407lo1iIZHI]YouTube - SUPER PURSUIT MODE AND K.I.T.T.[/ame] That video will truly make the 2008 Knight Rider look well-produced. The regular KR doesn't look too bad. the "super-pursuit-mode-redux" is a bit outrageous. I wonder if Ford brought out the GT500KR (which was King of the Road, in the late 60's parlance) specifically for the double-entendre for Knight Rider, or if that came along later. People complain that this car doesn't have black wheels, like the old one, but those were stock pontiac wheels at the time. These are stock GT500KR chromies, which magically turn black on demand... I did like that the old Firebird/TA Kitt was cutting-edge for the day. The F-bodies were slick, and new at that time. The Mustang is retro, not futuristic or really all that sleek.
bmc Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Ford is trying so hard... They have been putting a ton of cash into marketing it seems these days. I wonder if it is working and people's perceptions of Ford's are changing from "POS" to "Those are Cool"... It ain't working for me. The show was what you'd expect it to be.
