Hefyforme Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I want the Fijitsubo Legalis R evo style catback. This is going to be pricey but heard a clip on youtube and it sounds perfect. Not too loud and without the popping. It also looks good and am attaching pics. Only problem is I can't find anyone who has one. Got this response from Tein. Thank you for your interest in TEIN High Performance Suspension products. Fujitsubo is currently testing their product line to insure compliance with US Spec vehicles. Upon completion of testing, part number, pricing, and availability will be announced. However, we have noted your inquiry and can contact you via email upon release of products for your application. All Fujitsubo products will be available for purchase through our authorized dealer network, for which a list can be accessed by visiting http://www.tein.com/dealer_list/index.html. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at your convenience. Why would a catback not be approved on a U.S. spec car? Can some point me in the right direction?
awdG35killer Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 that looks hott! isnt there a fujitsubo out already, or is it a different style? i would think that adding "US approved" to the name lets them justify the high price maybe?
smooth_ej20 Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 its technically not approved because of the 2.5 us engine as opposed to the 2.0 for the Jdm, also its due to the bumpers being different length and fitment issues. go to www.gruppe-s.com they can get it for or you can contact japanparts.com
Hefyforme Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 Thanks smooth_ej20. Thats exactly what I wanted to know!
Mines Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Engine size doesn't play too much a role, since fujitsubo is appox size of all other catbacks for the legacy. yea the only problem is the rear bumper length I am currently running a jdm spec wagon version on my US spec sedan.
Billy Dagwood Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 link to the youtube clip? EDIT: is this it? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13dgygRzb7s]YouTube - Fujitsubo Legalis Super R[/ame]
Hefyforme Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 Here's a cool video if it works. Click the movie thing after page loads..http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/product01.php?no=790-64061&reno=00000000000000003354
EquinnoxX Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I have a super legalis R on my car. Got it for the exact reasons you said (perfect note, quiet & powerfule). It is a bit expensive but well worth it. There are fitment issues as stated, because the USDM bumper is a bit longer than the JDM one. As for it not being approved, it's prob because its a straight up JDM part. And that sound clip is just about dead on
Billy Dagwood Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 From the two videos it sounds almost...well, off, at idle. even quieter than stock! Is this true?
XLeezardx Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I love Fujitsubo, I used to have the Legalis R on my S2000. Very high quality exhuast and they are usually quiet. I believe Fujitsubo is a comapny that makes OEM exhaust for alot of Japanese car manucaturers.
EquinnoxX Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 From the two videos it sounds almost...well, off, at idle. even quieter than stock! Is this true? Yea it's pretty damn quiet. My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is the two HUGE canisters that it uses so it kind of loses the 'sleeper' look. but ehh, they grew on me after awhile.
Hefyforme Posted February 3, 2008 Author Posted February 3, 2008 I think the new evo style is slightly louder and the cans a little smaller (kind of like differnce between greddy sp2 and evo2) According to Fijitsubo website stock at idle 54db. With Legalis R 66db. Stock at 4500rpm is 80db. With Legalis is 88db. Not sure what you gain in the real world with an additional 8 db.
