well i'd think the ECU would be different as well. just like the RS guys who do the sti swap, they have to also swap ECU's.

sorry, but it'd be a lot cheaper to trade the car in. or if you go this route, go all the way and go 6MT from an sti. ;)

i doubt it, mines at redline daily-lol

have you ever tracked your car? launched it at 4K+? added a larger turbo and take out majority of your top end to replace it, then find out your tranny's slipping, reinforce it by upgrading the valve bodies, only to take it back to the track 3+ times a month, both autocross, dragstrip, and just daily driving of 50-100 miles in and out of traffic? if not, than again, i seriously DOUBT you drive your car harder than mine. ;) oh, did i mention that not only do i drag, autocross and upgrade things to it, but my techs, husband, and any visiting relative in town during a track event also co-shares my car to add to the beatings.

from my understanding the 4EAT tranny is much stronger than the 5EAT, so i would venture to guess that yours will do pretty well unless you are just trying to kill it for the sake of it. if that's the case, well then.... trade the car in for a 5MT because your financial loss wouldn't make any sense to swap the tranny, ecu, wiring etc. the cost outweighs what you'd lose in a trade. OR if you tranny goes, upgrade it with a full race built 4EAT from IPT. look on the Nasioc forums, there's a few members with 4EAT wrx's that have done this and their cars are amazing!

;) no, just saying that if you make a statement about how hard you are on your car, i will admit that i regularly beat on mine. this is why only SOA trained techs touch my car (and have banned me from my engine bay).

the VB upgrade made a night and day difference. i'd recommend it to anyone!
