HAMMER DOWN
Look what I found. When popping out my lower ball joints . To do a tranaxle swap.. The car is only 23 mos. old, & 73k on her. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/HAMMERDOWNGT/Subaru/0804072059.jpg I was working my a$$ off to get the ball joint & lower "A"arms apart. Wasn't exspecting that much rust. For how old my car was. Mileage:331487 Retired/Sold
Brady
Why is this. A surprise. To see corrosion on a car. In a location where it sees much weather. And roadspray. Presumably also from occasional roadsalt. Seeing as you live in New York?
PhilT
It's a little bit of surface rust, that's all. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon

CSTMIZR
Wait, wait, wait.............37,000 miles a year??? WOW!!! Mine's almost 7 years old and I only have 79,000. @ 73,000 miles that kind of surface rust is normal, especially in UpS NY (weather + salt) and doing it in 2 years will make it worse (constant exposure). HAMMER DOWN
That is the first ball joint that I done. That's been threw only 2 winters, that the control are & ball joint was rusted togother. Evern when I use to do mudding in my 4x4. They never got that bad ,that quickly. And the only other parts that are rusted like this, is the exhaust hardwear bolts. That is exspected.
