Whirling Dervish
Okay, so I just searched for about a half hour and couldn't find a definitive answer as to the size of the rear speakers. Eyeballing it I figured that they were 5 1/4, but it looks like from what I've been reading that they may be 6 1/2s? So, now a 3-part question. One, are the rears even worth replacing? I'm ideally looking for mid-fill. Two, what is the actual size of the rear speakers? Three, do I need a set of these (http://www.iaperformance.com/product_info.php?cPath=44_63_64_65&products_id=1482)? I believe I'll be ordering CDTs; not sure if I'm going with the CL or HD series (http://cdtaudio.com/hd42_cdt4.htm). The baskets both appear to be about 2 3/4". Will there be an issue with the window fit? Any help would be appreciated...hope to place my order tomorrow so that I can get them installed on my birthday next week...Thanks! -Chris
fweasel
6.5" you may need a spacer depending on the depth of your basket. I'm a 2ch fan myself. I left the stock speakers in the rear doors for surround channels only. In my other car, the rear speakers are bandpass only, no highs at all. ignore him, he'll go away. Whirling Dervish
Thanks...Guess I'll need to take apart the panel to measure depth. I know that CDT has a speaker designed specifically for rear fill; can't tell if it's a waste of money.

Whirling Dervish
yeah, the HDs look sweet...my friend is a vendor and will get them for me at cost. I'll just work with him on the install. He's getting the golds for his show car; can't wait to hear them. Any thoughts on sound dampeners? I've never used them before, but I've heard good things about the Heshmat...
