Very nice car.

I just ordered an 08 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT 5 speed in Quartz Silver Metallic. I really like this color and those wheels look awesome on your car.

So, I'm wondering what low buck mods you can do to these cars. this will be my first Subaru so any information will me much appreciated.

Thank you,

Pete

You should always wait 12 hours between sealing and wax, otherwise the seal doesn't cure properly.

You must have done the Zaino wax treatment. I did the same thing to my GMC Sierra when I first picked it up.

Zaino products are second to none! I'm going to do the same to my Subaru when it comes in.

Nice car!

*Panel filter ~$50: improves mid-range power slightly, sharper throttle response.

*Rear sway bar ~ $200: makes the car much easier to rotate, reduces body roll.

Those would be the first low buck mods I'd go with.

After that, replacing your stock RE-92 tires is a MUST. Virtually *any* performance/all-season performance tire will be better. You could upgrade the tires to something better (and get better handling/braking) for ~$500-600.

Once your tires and suspension are set, an Access Port is the best "bang for the buck" power mod, as it allows you to reflash your car's ECU to match any hardware mods you might make (better flowing downpipe, cat-back exhaust, intake).

You can improve braking a lot with more aggressive pads like Hawk HPS or Bobcats. Pair it with some stainless steel brake lines and the brake "feel" will be much better. Again, start with the tires, as they are the car's weakest point. :)

was thinking of a rear sway bar for my '08 spec b. does it help much in this model? also can you install it with the spt exhaust system?

So guys, HKC just released a pair of Carbon Fiber eyelids for the 2008's. It's the only pair they have, and I believe the first they are offering to US customers, so I'm grabbing them to see how they look on the QSM?

Any opinions on how it may contrast? I think it will look sharp seeing as how there's already a bit of black on the 08 front end. If I like it I may get the CF ARC hood scoop too, and maybe black out the headlights, if there's not too much black. That and the Hyperblack 18's I never got to order last Summer and I think it'll set off the QSM quite nicely.

Anyhow, I'll post some pics for your viewing pleasure once I get them. Dunno how long that'll take though, if they ship from JDM land. :D
