P2x
Is it just me or have the cookie session timeouts been changed to something horribly short on this site in recent weeks? It's kinda annoying to have to log in at every visit...
SUBE555
No issues here. Did you opt to have your comp lo you in for every visit or is someone else playing with your cookies?
Tide
Nothing has changed on cookies.
P2x
hmmm.. started happening about two or three weeks ago. None of my other usual haunts have the problem, so that's weird.
Sub-attraction
Auto login doesn't work for me either.
SUBE555
It hasn't been a problem for me at school where I log in and out regularly, and here at home. Hmm, not sure what to say. Do you guys check the box when you initially log in?
Sub-attraction
Yes, I just tried it again and nothing. No biggie for me, I'll just keep keying it in each time.

SteVTEC
mmmmm...cooooooookiiieeeeee :) Lots of people have been having misc ISP/routing issues lately though. That could have something to do with it. <shrug>
P2x
Even though I check "Log me on automatically each visit:" it dosen't seem to make a difference. Perhaps for whatever reason this field isn't being updated by the server.
Tide
There isn't a server setting for keeping track of cookies, its all on your local machine. When you check the box, the next page will set a cookie called 'legacy' for the site you came in on. If you like, turn on authorize all cookies and check to see that it gets set. It will also have an expire time and other information. Depending on how your browser is configured, it may not be accepting cookies, or maybe not accepting cookies without a privacy policy. Feel free to also try other browsers.

P2x
Ok thanks. Firefox seemed to work no problem. I just don't get how it works fine for NASIOC but not here. I'll go through my settings with a fine tooth comb..

dimil
Mozilla works perfectly for me. It's  to see people still using microsoftware.
P2x
I hope you compiled that reply on a linux box. Personally, I don't judge software by who makes it, just by what sort of job it does (just like my cars), and IE is perfectly adequate (for the most part). P2x
Oh yes, that's true.. :) Although I hear in a year or two linux desktop users will be surpassing Mac users..
dimil
I hope you compiled that reply on a linux box.
Nah, I prefer Solaris even if that message was done in HP-UX. And I judge software based on how well it works (or doesn't). I still have microsoft stuff at home for gaming and some word processing (everyone sends atachments in .doc or .xls). ha-evolution
I have the no-remember-who-I-am problem on one of my work computers. Every other computer I use is fine and all are using IE. The cookie is corrupt or something. I believe the solution is to find the legacysti.com cookie that exists on your computer and delete it. At least that's how I think I fixed it when this happened to me on Nasioc. I haven't got around to fixing the work computer yet so I'm not 100% positive that this is the solution.
