Stage II and suspension but had to trade it

Recommended Posts

I was stage II catless up/down TDC map Perrin top mount sways and megans and it was running great. Just something odd about power band, the damn car seemed faster with the accelerator half way to the floor than all the way? Had this same thing in an Audi turbo car? Anyway I traded my 05 LGT for this new 06 SRT8 300C! This car is fast especially for a 4200 lbs. beast, handling and braking stock are awesome BUT man do I miss awd when it's snowy (ya I know what did I expect?) Anyway this forum is great and will still be worth participating even though my legacy is gone.:spin:

Personally, I *heart* that ride. :)

Saw a black SRT-8 on the road the other day, and I honestly started drooling. I'm not sure if it was still on the stock suspension or modified - but it's stance was just awesome.

Take care with all that RWD power, though! :)

The car is a rocket and pulls until you run outta road. I do like the interior it actually seems pretty good quality and the suspension is awesome. As far as the member questioning my reason for trading the car I guess it was more a reason not to keep it.

And yup it is brutal on fuel like the first 2 tanks were 10 mpg!!! I don't give a crap... when you can run with 4 people and it feels the same performance wise as just a driver that is good!!! Something feels odd about a car this big and heavy that goes and handles this good.

It is definately faster than my Subie but I really liked the Subie for more than just the speed and I will miss it. Great cars and lots of potential (see Farmer Jon's thread). :)

25000 miles on car about 10,000 on stage II, it was an impressive power increase on stage II and not much turbo lag. I just hated that feeling that it seemed to "hold back" when floored (except passing gear on highway). My car was a 5eat maybe the manual trans performs better with the added boost.

"Just something odd about power band, the damn car seemed faster with the accelerator half way to the floor than all the way?" has got to be one of the stupidest reasons to trade in a car that I can think of....

Oh ya... and the ashtray was full... how's that fella? :spin:

With the manual, what becomes a concern is being in the right gear, at the right time. :) I've found for best highway performance, at least with my tune, it's not always just a brainless downshift to 4th that brings best passing results, so there's some compromise there as well.

I blame all of this on our rather small snail, which starts running out of steam pretty quickly up-top.

In the "tromp and go" sense of slushboxes, like brother sebberry said, ayup, there's quite a bit of complaint about this here on our Forums, and you're definitely not alone. I think that if that's what you wanted, you did make the right choice - short of a full-bore AMG. :)

I wish you many happy, speedy, and safe miles!

PS: My other current main hobby is speed detection countermeasures. Just in case you are interested in this area, know that the front of your vehicle is *extremely* hard to protect against LIDAR. I can help guide you on this, if it's something that you're looking to do and./or legal in your area.
