BDII
Ok.... Let me start off by saying this: I'm not trying to insult anyones intelligence. I recently purchased the cubby lid with the arm rest extension. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01037-1.jpg I looked at the stock and for the life of me couldnt figure out how to get it off. After pulling and prying for about 5 minuts I stopped and took a closer look and the following write will show you how. I never have been much of an interior modifier. I certainly am not going to pay someone to do this so this is for you not to car savy people: Tools: Phillips head and flat head http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01045.jpg 1. Open cup holder. Right above the cup holder is a retangular piece of plastic. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01039-1.jpg 2. Inert your flat head under and turn and it should pop right out. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01040-1.jpg 3. There is a single phillips head screw inteh back, unscrew it. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01042.jpg 4. pull from teh top and it will realease and the 3 screws for the cubby top will be visible. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01043-1.jpg 5. Remove the screws and the cubby top should come right out. Put it back together in the reverse manner. You should have one left over screw from the extendable arm rest bracket, why I do not know:iam: 6. Smile beacuse you did this in under 10 minutes http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/Bu11dogg2/cubby/DSC01046.jpg Need forum help? CSTMIZR
Removing the cubby door is a reasonably easy project. It involves some panel removal (basically a few gentle pops, some screws, and a harness or two). If you can dismanlte enough to, say, install an XM in the cubby, it would be a breeze. If not, I could step-by step it for you, it might take a while though (bro has "05 so gotta run into him first).
CSTMIZR
P.S. I can't imagine why you would want to remove it, at least without some further mod goal in mind, like flushing a nice LCD w/ the navi, DVD, and PS3.....no, no, Wii....no, no.....Both!!! ~~~~~~Sorry got a little carried away. unstablementaly
the OP's intention was for changing out the armrest for the extended one. he just named it wrong. the cubby in the top center of the dash serves a whole bunch of purposes! just look for threads started by casiopolis!! my vBGarage
