SFGR415
How are you gonna cram those in there if your only rollin the fenders? Maybe i should go by 9 inches instead and 255/35/18.

chucktoo
Now we are talking - real tires - get an Outback and don't worry about putting them in the wheel wells. Any idea what offset you need for 9.5" wide rims . I like the 275/35/18 myself they are 1 " wider than the 245/45/18 s I am running now - never enough tire. 225/55/17 7.0" tread 775 rev/mile 245/45/18 9.1" tread 780 rev/mile 275/35/18 10.2" tread 814 rev/mile
Xenonk
Chuck, you are more flexible with tire sizing on an Outback.. what are the stock wheel specs for the Outback? I can probably come up with the correct offset for a 9.5" wide rim for ya.. and also give me your current 18" wheel specs so that I can see what you have working.. and as a final request, how much room do you have on your 18"s from the tire sidewall to the edge of the fender? Do you have a pic of what you currently have on the car? Keefe Keefe
chucktoo
Hi Keefe I do not know the offset on the 18x7.5 they came as a package from TireRack and of course it was a "trust us it will fit " .All they give you is the 5-100 bolt pattern. I can take a picture now but lets hold off till Myles get me the wagon springs and I lower things down . I appriciate the offer of help and will take you up on it in the Spring when the snows come off - yes it is time in New England for the mounting of the snows. This sounds like a good Spring project when the car goes to the next level . After talking to Quirt Crawford today it is clear there is a lot more HP/Torgue [2X] to be had - at that point the 245s maybe too small for now they can handle all the torque I can make . Thanks Charlie
axis008
Keefe, you're always surprising us with your sweet wheel/tire combos! I love the rims and the tires also. The tread pattern is very, very nice. Those tires are extremely grippy too from what I hear. -ben

For a RWD, that would be a different story. Keefe Keefe

Yokohama Advan A048 http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/yokohama/yo_advan_a048_ci2_l.jpg Hey Keefe, Did you manage to get this 18x9.5 on your car? I am very interested in the 18x9.5 wheels on the Nasioc forum. According to your wheel post, it should be fine right when install with coilovers + negative camber? Just want to confirm with you. Thanks!
Xenonk
I've done 18x10, but the tire will stick out 1".. even with a 265/30/18 with the best offset you can get for our cars you will need to flare the fenders even if you run a lot of camber.. You will need get coilovers that are retuned to even shorter-travelling suspension then what I have to make sure the suspension doesn't travel more than 2" total. You can go see my other posts when i put on 18x10s on the car. Just do a search "HRE" and you'll see it. Keefe
