MiniStiGuy Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 So I was searching through tirerack and found these 15.9lb 18x7.5 rims and figured I'd see what you guys think of them. http://www.tirerack.com/snow/WheelSearchLite.jsp?frontMake=Kosei&frontModel=K1+TS&finish=Silver+Painted&finishAbbrev=G&frontSize=18x7.5&frontPrice=275&frontWeight=15.9&frontStock=In+Stock&frontDiameter=18&frontSpecCode=0&frontMarkdownPrice=0&frontMapPrice=0&frontSortCode=95581&frontTireWidth=225/&frontTireRatio=40&frontPartNumber=TS185S&frontQty=4&partNum=TS185S&nonWinter=true&autoMake=Subaru&autoModel=Legacy+Sedan+2.5+GT&autoYear=2005&autoModClar=Limited&grid=true OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
wukindada Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 They fit just fine, I had a set in gooooouuuuld @ one time:):) 225/40 work out the best Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
MiniStiGuy Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 what about a 235/40. wider and softer with possibly curb protection. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
NewLegGT67 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I was thinking of the same wheel & tire combo myself. I also have '06 ABP LGT. I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3.
Scooter Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 what about a 235/40. wider and softer with possibly curb protection. If you look at the tire specs, they seem to recommend a rim width of 8" - 9.5" for a 235/40-18... Seek first to understand, then to be understood. In other words: SEARCH before you post!
Guest Gitster Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 You should get Rota's, $100 less a wheel, plus a few lbs each.
wukindada Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Go with 225's the 235's will have sloppy sidewalls:( Go lightweight:):) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!

Tommyh Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I'd go with as wide of a tire as you can fit on the wheel, so my vote is for the 235s this will give you a wider footprint getting more meat on the ground for better handling. The ABP wagon has 225/45-17s on 17x7s on it. I really like the wheels...though I'm kinda running out of creative reasons why it has two valve stems (I know the real reason). NSFW Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Redundant valves stems FTW. That way if one of them fails, the other one can still hold pressure.

More of a contact patch yes but those sidewalls are going to be VERY sloppy:(:( Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
Tommyh Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Actually, doing some more thinking about this and with the help of the Tire size calculator. I'd go for some 235/35-18's. They are nearly the same size as the diameter of the stock tire, get more meat on the ground and have less sidewall than the 225/40's. Though come to think about it...this might rub, is more likely to hydroplane, is a rare tire size, is heavier, and yeah...wider sounds cooler...but just go with the 225's in this case...
