Just out of warranty? Effing awesome!

Stealership wants 80 bucks just to look at the car, tell me what I already know and "they are going to do everything they can to get it replaced under warranty". Friggen bullcrap!

How common is it that SoA will honor this repair under warranty? I'm thinking not highly likely...

:icon_mad: I guess I'm doing the suspension upgrade earlier than I thought!

Any insight or suggestions would be more than welcome...

If it is in the front, did the strut just blow out?

It happened to me, they changed it for me, but I was still under warranty.

My feeling is that they will cover it.

yeah... my feeling is they're gonna get you in there, car up in the air, and then say, sorry, nothing we can do. and then you're out of pocket.

If I were in that situation, I'd buy the strut and replace it myself. You you can't manage that install, try giveing SOA a call first and plead your close mileage claim to them. The worst they can do is say no.

ignore him, he'll go away.

^^ +1. Buy the strut from an OEM vendor and have it installed at a local independent shop.

I had one of mine go, but it was fixed under warranty.

It's the front pass strut that's blown.....it's getting the "blown-strut-rattle" in the bumps.....verrrrry unnerving!

I have a front passenger side strut sitting in my garage, it's your for free if you want it. You just have to pay for shipping.

How effing sweet is that?

If your sale doesn't go thru with the coilovers I'm going to try and hit you up for those....if it goes thru I will have no choice but to grab this strut from you.

I would have them check it out, if they really contact Subaru chances are it will be covered.

I'm looking at this as a means for an upgrade....I'm not sending my money to the dealer so they can tell me the obvious and say it's not covered.....I'd rather not run that risk.

Money in hand if anyone has suspension...time to search the Classified Section

Sounds like you already made up your mind when more than likely Subaru would've stepped up and replaced it for you.

Not quite sure why you bothered even asking the question...

Opie- that's because two days ago I wasn't sure which way to go with this.

I should have posted "I'm now looking at this as a means for an upgrade..."

After thinking about it and without a certain guarantee from the dealer that SoA would step up I cannot justify sending any money anywhere except toward an upgrade.

My apologies for mis-communicating...
