LowFast Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Ok, time to plan for this next month as it is quickly approaching. I have no idea for date, time or place so throw up your suggestions. It would be great to go cruise on some roads with a few turns but those seem hard to find in Texas. Depending on the date, if it is close to the end of March I would volunteer our place for a cookout. We are in the middle of renovating the inside and outside of our house but should have most of it done by then. Let’s hear those ideas!
LowFast Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 I had thought of the TMS thing as well, not sure when the dates are but it would be fun to get a group of us out there, good picture opportunity as well. I will talk with Sarah and see about doing something at our place. I have allot of work to do to get things even semi decent to have people over.

Well...for the driving, there are plenty of twisties out here around 78 and 982 and all the roads that spur off of them (lake lavon area).... Just a quick trip east down 544 (plano rd) or even renner. Speed limit goes up to 65-70 once you pass murphy on 78....same thing on 380 after princeton it goes up to 65. Country Club road, minutes east of Allen is fantastic, there are some great twists and turns there as well I ease stress by driving them daily...fortunately for me it's my drive home (% As for a meet this month...I have 17 tickets to some thing that is going on at Texas motor speedway this weekend. (dirt track finals or something like that) I'll find them and post up the details tonight. Everyone is always welcome at our place....it's just assumed that we are too far out (Princeton) I will also be going to some of the drag strips this summer to have fun int the LGT....anyone interested?

Texas Motor Speedway dirt track Texas World Dirt Track Championship Friday March 2nd and Saturday March 3rd gates open at 4 The lady at procuts gave me 15 tickets when we got Bailey's hair cut..... ticket is good for an event at either night And of course I'll join you....I live right in the middle of that drive.!
forestir Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Is TMS "private property" when there's no event going on? When I missed you guys at the Subaru Challenge, the place was empty and I drove around the big loop trying in vain to find everyone. It would make for an interesting track if there was no other traffic and no cops.
robsontuning Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 we will be up in Ennis on the 10th and 11th for the NOPI carshow.
Mr. Ed Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I'll be there, I was wondering when this was, the website for the motorplex hasn't been updated yet this year. look forward to meeting you and seeing the car in person!

Yeah we are leaving Houston Friday evening and coming home Sunday evening.
Mr. Ed Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 So, is there no one wanting to get together this weekend? I have plenty of these tickets to the dirt track, If you would like some let me know. We are going out there Saturday night. Looks like maybe a trip down to Ennis will be in order next weekend! There is a really ool drive in theater down that way too. http://www.galaxydriveintheatre.com/content/blogcategory/78/29/
MSPRO Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 There is a really ool drive in theater down that way too. http://www.galaxydriveintheatre.com/content/blogcategory/78/29/ I will vouch for the Galaxy Drive In. I spent 5 weeks in DFW last spring and we headed to the drive in before we came back Home. It was a great experience and very cheap, like $6 for 2 new movies, cant beat that. We have to come down and pick up some stuff from Storage this summer and I would love to go back when we are there. Amy 04 FXT vf39 5mt
Mr. Ed Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 So, we went out to the TMS dirt track and it was a blast, but got sooooooo cold about 9pm so we left. Who's in for a trip down to Ennis this weekend?
forestir Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 How about aiming for late March and doing a morning or daytime meet? Loop around a good driving road (e.g. as suggested by Mr. Ed). Take a few photo ops at various scenic spots. End somewhere for brunch or, if nearby, Lowfast's place where we can help watch him renovate or something. Mr. Ed, any great little brunch spots with big parking lots near there?

robsontuning Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 NOPI is this weekend, we are going down Sunday to meet robsontuning I'll be parked with a Blue WRX, black S2000, and an IS350 all on Volks. Just look for the pink monster

Hah, maybe I will put everyone to work, how skilled are you with a paint brush. Sounds good, at the rate I am moving now late March would be better. A drive as a group would be fun, maybe on a Saturday morning.

I may take 1 or two off this month, hopefully it will line up with what you all decide.
Mr. Ed Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Hey any of you folks have any tires sitting in the garage that you want to get rid of at the next meet?
LowFast Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 No tires, sorry. Looks like this month will not work at my place. Most weekends Sarah is on call at the hospital and I am not making the progress that I though on the house. Maybe next month things will be more in order to have everyone over. If everyone is still up for getting together, let me know the time and place. Even if Sarah has to work I should still be able to make it.
hal9e3 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 At this point it's either the 24th or the 31st, so let's vote. Either works for me.
forestir Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Either works for me as well. 24th is slightly more convenient, assuming a morning drive and brunch.
Mr. Ed Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Either works for me as well. 24th is slightly more convenient, assuming a morning drive and brunch. are sunday's just out ?
forestir Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 No, Sundays are okay with me--similar family obligations to work around, but as open as Saturdays.
WannaScooby Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I wish I could make the meet so I can finally meet some of you guys, but on the 24th, I'll be in Shreveport and on the 31st, I'll be celebrating yet another family birthday.
