Hi all and this is my first post. I am looking to come over from the Mazda camp and am in the process of purchasing a LGTL Wagon from a dealer. Is $25K a good price for a pearl white 07 Legacy GT Limited Wagon with 4000 "Demo" miles on it? It was a trade in for a SUV and the sales manager apparently drove the car for 2 weeks also. (That's why I say demo. I'm not too happy about that fact.) The carfax is clean and I already called SOA and ran a VIN check and it also came up clean. The other annoying thing is the fact that the car has 4 brand new Pirelli P6 tires on the car. I beleive it comes with Yokohamas from the factory? The dealer maintains that thats how they got the car and the owner put the tires on. Thanks guys and I look forward to being a Subaru owner very soon!

welcome to the forum.....

25k is high for a demo; if it was sold to a retail customer, not used by a employee at the dealership, it is not a demo; it's a used car....

a demo is a car that has never been titled or sold to a retail customer, but instead was used by a dealership manager---sales, service or similar...

the sales dude might call it whatever he wants, but it's used. what was the sticker price?

good luck btw!!

I know that they were originally asking high $29's for it initially but it didn't sell and there wasn't a single mile put on the car from when I orginally saw it in the paper. Even after another 2 weeks of negotiating the car had the same exact amout of miles after I last test drove it. I guess the wagons aren't that popular... :icon_conf I am also looking at a brand new one which is its spitting image and its stickered at 33k and the other dealer is offering it to me for $29,900 which is a little bit out of my price range. The other kicker is the dealer with the used one is offering me $1500 more for my trade then the dealer with the new car.

Thanks for the quick reply!

well, it sounds like you've done the homework, so make 'em an offer; see how bad they want to unload it.....the worse they can is "no"

but don't ever take their first deal, usually they'll drop lower if they're pushed by tight negotiations.......:icon_wink

I have been keeping this going with them for over 2 weeks now. I currently have the advantage in that they have had it for awhile. I so far have talked them $1500 up on my trade and got the price down to $25,380. They were originally asking $29,900 and when they reduced it to under $27k is when I took interest. I was just about to buy a Forester Sports for $26k too before the LGTL Wagon became affordable. I have them locked in to the $25380 right now but I wanted to be sure that I was getting a decent deal for a Limited 07 GT wagon with a little mileage...

I have them locked into 25,300 at current. They are also offering me $1500 more then anywhere else for my trade so that is sweet.

If money is a big concern, I would wait and purchase a slightly used one from a private party. I got my 2005 LGT with 14,900mi for $17,000. It is not a Limited Wagon, but rather a regular LGT sedan. My point being, you can save A LOT of money by buying slightly used. LGT's depreciate largely during the first two years, so use that to your advantage!
enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.

Just to make sure, this is a Legacy 2.5GT Turbo, because it comes new with Bridgestone RE92s instead of the Yokohamas that come on the 2.5i.

Sounds like a great deal to me, for an almost-new 2007 LGT Limited Wagon!! I say go for it.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

In other words: SEARCH before you post!

Hi Melayout,

I didn't know that. I assumed it had the Yokohamas like the others. It now has Perelli P6's and I was kinda annoyed that it didn't have the original tires on the car. It is a Turbo GT Limited Wagon. Thanks for pointing that out.

Not sure if this one is still available but I beleive he is in NJ, so he would be fairly local. SO if you would consider a used one to save some cash look here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53720

Very nice car but I need an auto unfortunatly... My stick driving days are over. :(

Also Thanks to everyone on the advice! I'm picking up the car tonight or tomorrow depending if I don't find a better deal by then.
