dr. pepper Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 The .:R32 is by far the nicest sounding car straight from the factory, imo.

PhilT Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Aren't they basically the same car anyway ? or at least built on the same platform ? Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
c-lo Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 I was not impressed yeah, neither was I. I do like the S3 though 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
tytek Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 new r32 vs old s3... not the best comparo. but i do like and respect both cars for what they are.
godwhomismike Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 The R32 sounds really nice, but it looks like goatse meets meatspin.
Jedi Pimp Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Almost the same car except for the engine. Audi gets the 2.0T with upgraded turbo/internals. Wish they sold the S3 here but it would go for a ridiculous price.
andrew.anderson Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 There are S3s everywhere over here! It is a very popular car.

Wish they sold the S3 here but it would go for a ridiculous price. there were rumors of the 3.2 V6 A3Q going away in favor of the new S3... not sure when though, if ever.
andrew.anderson Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Was anyone able to read the roadsigns? I watched it a few times. I am trying to figure out where the heck they are at here in Germany.
andrew.anderson Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 That me! I loved that get up. More here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54938

BrownBoy Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 kinda lame, I'm a fan of both cars. notice the R32 is a 4 door. never get that in the states Actually, the 4 dr is available in the states. A local subaru guy's older brother bought one a few months ago...
Jedi Pimp Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 The 4 door GTI is available but its not the R32. And also, the new R32 will be DSG only.
dr. pepper Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 And also, the new R32 will be DSG only. WTF was VW thinking? Sure the DSG is a nice manual-auto, but offering no MT at all? not smart. Just goes to show how much worse this .:R32 is going to be. Way too heavy and big, and no MT, not a real performer in my mind.
wukindada Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 To bad the Veedub doesn't have a turbocharged version of the 3.6. Like the look of the S3..... Watching them accelerate made me think of turtle racing for some reason:rolleyes: Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
