chenc544 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 EPA releases the estimated MPG comparsion tool for pre-2008 cars using the new 2008 standard. I looked up '06 LGT 5MT and using the 2008 standard it's 17 City and 24 Hwy. This compares to the original 20/26. Funny thing is the '07 LGT gets 18/25... I guess they must have tested the '07 in the "Intelligent" mode...
gianspi Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 What is the new standard? I can't guess what the old standard was....50mph w/o A/C? No way I'm getting close to my car's EPA estimate with A/C on @ 90mph. Edit: On a closed, private track of course. enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.
mkaresh Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 My site has a real-world fuel economy survey. Results for the Legacy so far: Subaru Legacy real-world fuel economy When I have enough responses I'll be analyzing the data to pull out the effects of the various variables.
SLegacy99 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 FYI Im rated for 21 and 27 and I get 22 and 32 with A/C. Thats my real world fuel economy and im stickin to it.
SLegacy99 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Just spoke with my mom about her RX400h. Said she averaged 24 mpg on the way to South Carolina from Pennsylvania. The car is rated for 27 highway, but thats at 55 mph. She said that is accurate, but of course she not using A/C this time of year. She said she gets exactly 30 mpg at 48 mph. Not bad in my book.
SLegacy99 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calculatorSelectYear.jsp Here's a guide FYI. ....I still dont like these ratings. Turn the damn A/C off! I noticed that alot of cars that had automatic transmissions with better fuel economy than their manual transmission counterparts changed. The manual has the advantage again. Interesting. BMW especially.
lejjasie Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 What's changing between 2006 and 2007 LGT Drive Trains? Should the consumption go up?
lejjasie Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 According to this something is getting better with the years... 2006 http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calculatorCompareSideBySide.jsp?column=1&id=21866 2008 http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calculatorCompareSideBySide.jsp?column=1&id=24020
