When you bought your Legacy, did the dealer give you a gift?

We got nothing from the dealer...the car was ordered with the inside air filter but did not come. The salesperson also stated to both my wife and I that the car had perimeter alarm...it did not! We are soooo frustrated! We have ordered the two parts from the dealership and in the presence of the same salesperson, nothing free was offered. Right about now we wish we had purchased another Jeep Grand Cherokee. We will be even more surprised if this feedback is "allowed" to be shared on this website. We will never buy another car sight unseen... regardless of the hype!

I hope you're not implying that there is censorship on this site, nor that it is related to Subaru in any way because neither is true. And I must take back what I said about not getting anything. I received a box of chocolate chip cookies this week - from a bakery too, not just some from the grocery store!

If so, maybe you would have been happier with the Jeep. Your feedback is welcome, negative or positive, if fact, you'd do some good naming that dealership to warn other potential buyers which dealer to avoid. Sincrely, Teh DM

I had to work pretty hard but I did get several items for my trouble. I got the $25 gift card for the Legacy/Outback test drive. I also got a $30 gift card for test driving a Saaburu 9-2X. Additionally, GM was offering $250 to anyone who took a 24-hour test drive in almost any GM car and bought something else. I 24-hour test drove the 9-2X (Saab is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GM), jumped thru the paperwork hoops and got my $250. In fact, the day I took delivery of my LGTL wagon they were rather slow getting it ready so I killed the time by driving a few blocks to the Saab dealership and finalizing the paperwork. GM was actually pretty prompt in paying off. It only took about a month to get it. I have some Fry's rebates that still haven't been paid after 6 months$%^*&*% Finally, some guy on the NASIOC board gave me his free maintenance coupon. All in all a pretty good haul. P.S. - forgot about the license plate frames. The dealer thoughtfully drilled holes in the front bumper for one of them. I pitched it and put the screws back in. Fortunately they were black so they hardly show.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Thanks to Dubya we Lone Star residents now get to deduct our state sales tax on our federal income tax. We don't have to choose since there isn't any state income tax. That should work out to ~$600 back in my pocket just for the sales tax I paid on the car, which of course I will immediately spend on performance mods:)

Please don't get the wrong impression. As a vehicle, we are very impressed with the car. We are just a little "bent" after hearing what others recieved and what we did not. As for implying that this board may lacked integrity, well that is just is not the case (demonstrated by the full posting of out little grip). If we offended anyone, we are sorry! Our frustration is perhaps best directed towards ourselves. We purchased the '05 Outback Ltd XT before it was released. When it did finally arrive there was little incentive for the dealer to offer anything other than the vehicle to us. Again, we are very happy with the car! Perhaps we sound entitled...we should be pleased that we even got a new car. In this day and age of "consumerism", it is easy to get swept away with the claims of others, fanciful or not. Regardless, it would have been nice if the car came equiped with what we thought had been ordered...oh well.
