thehikingdude Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I can't comment on the exact models you listed. However I just had (4) Alpine Type-R SPR-17LP speakers installed in front and rear with an Alpine MRV-F345 amp. They sound awesome! The R series will take and need a lot of power.

Thanks, CRAZY KEN I had the X installed in my front doors with 1 inch (I think it was in inch:confused: maybe 1/2 or 3/4) spacers and they just fit. I had problems with two of the 6.5 drivers and eventually gave up on them. Surprisingly I was able to use their fancy adjustable crossovers with my Focal seperates. So nice X-over, not so great a speaker. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!!
CRAZY KEN Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 ...I too currently have focals: Polyglass 165 V Slim (component) Polyglass 165 CV1 (coaxial) running off of Alpines MRV-F345 Focals sounds sooo clean and clear if I put the volume level up to 50%. They cannot be played loud and hard though...they will fart like crazy!!! LittleBlueGT- What amp are you using? Thehikingdude- I am going to check on the depth of your speakers and see if the type-x will fit! Thanks guys, CRAZY KEN

I cannot remember what Focals I have though, they make a few lines. I am using the same alpine amp as you for my seperates.
