king_j
i think i need horzontal adjustment. do i tighten or loosen the bolt to move the light beam outward?
MiniStiGuy
I don't remember exactly as it has been awhile since I've worked on some headlights. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
f1anatic
How do you align the hi beams. I have Toshiba HIR bulbs and they are next to useless since they light up the sky not the road. They project much much further; I would like them to in fact overlap with my low beams.
MiniStiGuy
you can't really as they are not self adjustable. The whole highbeam/lowbeam unit is one big unit and adjust all the same for both lights at the same time. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
ppettit2005
I can't get any motion out of my head lamps. I turn the screw one way and nothing happens. If I turn it the other way, nothing happens. I can't see shit at night, so tomorrow morning I am just going to take my car to the dealership and tell them to fix it. MiniStiGuy
what are you using to adjust them? screw driver? socket? OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
ppettit2005
I'm using a socket. I called the dealership and they said it was $45 to re-aim my headlamps. I'm broke, soo for now I am just going to drive around at night without being able to see.
MiniStiGuy
give it another shot they should move. it isn't anything drastic or anything but they should move after a few turns. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
GTS Jeff
Even the pressure of pushing on the adjustment screw should move the lamp up and down.
ppettit2005
it does, but they won't stay aligned if I just push on the screws. what I need is just higher mounted headlamps at some point. It's like my car just aims them into the ground all the time.

blackturboblack
I don't know if I've got this. Horozontal moves the bulb side to side, as in along the horizon? And vertical moves it up and down?
MiniStiGuy
That's correct you've got it right. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
blackturboblack
I installed those MSI (I think) springs. I'm dropped about an inch all round. Question: how far should I raise ( adjust) my headlights to compensate? 1/2 turn? 1/4 turn? I know, I know, I should do the wall-measuring thing, but until all this snow melts it's not gonna happen. Just need a quick temporary fix. What would you guesstimate? Both screws? One? TIA.
MiniStiGuy
just because you lowered the car doesn't mean that you need to raise the lights. Unfortunately when you lower a vehicles height you lose distance on visibility. It's one of the things that happens. If you raise a car though you can distance. blackturboblack
LOL. Damn, Mini, you're killin' me here. I think I need a little more throw. The immediate front road is brightly lit, but the distance (say 3-4 car lengths) is dim. Or maybe I'm out-driving my lights! I tend to do that. BTW, I'm using 65w rallye and 55w yellow fogs, which I can't even see because the heads are shooting down so close.
MiniStiGuy
well the only way to be 100% sure is to do the alignment process. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro

Newbie757
Hello I'm new at this, I have recently change my bulbs on my 2010 legacy although I was able to find the vertical adjustment, but my question is there a horizontal alignment on this model? If so where do I find it? Thanks
MiniStiGuy
Being that I have never taken a look at 2010 lights I can't tell you exactly where it is. If you can get me some pics of the back of the lights I would be better able to help you out. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro

RIPjeep2002
best way to adjust these with the lights in the car? Just got a replacement TYC set fully custom with halos and blacked out housing and driving home tonight I was lighting up interstate signs like a christmas tree, and when driving over bridges the concrete divider, the cut off was clearly angled upwards.
