someday
I'm in the process of deciding what year to get. I really don't like the front end of either year and I've read on here what's involved with changing the front bumper on the 07. It's a bit more work then I would like to tackle. My question is: are the 08's the same as the current JDM bumpers. If so, would that imply that swapping out the front fascias would be as simple as unbolt and bolt back on? Guest Gitster
On the '07 there isnt any even any bolts to get the bumper off. Just pop-its. im not sure what your worried about?? http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3737&highlight=bumper+removal
NovaWolverine
The '08 USDM front bumper isn't the same as the '07 JDM. You can convert, though. But IMO the discrepancy between the '07 JDM and '08 USDM is smaller and harder to justify the money doing the convert. We'll see if I have the money. W/ the '07 USDM, it is a fairly easy convert to go to '06 JDM.
someday
I guess I was asking if the 5mph bumper beam has to be cut or replaced on the 08 USDM like some have done here on the older models in order to put a new front fascia on? Guest Gitster
Haha, i have no idea how anyone would know that on here ?? Anyone have an '08 yet ? Lol.
someday
I know no one has an 08, but I would venture to guess someone here may have some info. I know a few on here have converted their USDM bumpers to the 2.0GT spec.B front bumper. I was just hoping I could avoid that and just unclip the old fascia and clip on the new one. NovaWolverine
I could be wrong, but I wouldn't bet on it. Our bumpers are still a bit longer. If we can in fact clip it on, I will definitely be interested since it'll decrease the hassle and make it a lot cheaper of an option.
edkwon
I think the OP should wait until the 08s are actually out for sale, i think nobody here really has an idea other than partially informed guesses Ed
Jedi Pimp
I wouldn't bet on the bumper beam being the same as JDM on the upcoming 08 model. I would base your choice on other criteria other than the bumper swapping potential.
