BRP800
I had the 2005 Legacy GT (16,000 mi) parked for 4-5 days in the garage. When I took it out I got about 1/4 mile and a terrific burning smell occured. No smoke in car or rear view mirror. Not stinky like a clutch, more like burning wires? Went away in 5 minutes on the highway. Suggestions: 1). Dead mouse or bird in turbo plumbing. 2). Oil dripping on turbo or piping when idle. No oil spots or wetness anywhere. 3). Rear crank seal dripping oil on flywheel/clutch. Any opinions. I'll try it a couple more times.

bdisco
A good mouse is a dead mouse. Unless it's in the wall or somewhere in your car. How can something so small, stink that bad for so long?

fweasel
My turbo oil drain has a small leak. I get a similar smell from time to time. I'm assuming that the oil is dripping onto something hot. The leak is not big enough to leave spots on the ground. I'd take it back to the dealer, but I will most likely fix it myself when the turbo comes out next month. ignore him, he'll go away.
