Question about the white...

Recommended Posts

Now that the colors have been formally announced, I have a question about the Satin White Pearl. Personally, I think a deep pearl white (like the Premium Pearl White seen on Acura's TSX), is one of the sharpest colors a car can get. On the contrary, a basic white (like the Taffeta White seen on Acura's MDX) is one of the most boring colors available. For those who have seen it, where does Subaru's Satin White Pearl fall on this scale?

I was hoping that a pewter-type color would be available. Black is out for sunny Florida weather. That leaves silver and white as possibilities for me. This choice will be determined by how good the white actually looks. I look forward to checking it out in person.
It is a true pearl white, at least what I saw in Australia. Shiny, reflective a bit, ect.
Since you actually saw this color, does the reflective qualities of the pearl have a goldish or more silverish appearance in the light? Some pearls make a car have more of a cream color than white. I'm hoping it is more of a bright silvery white.

Pictures do no justice for it. http://www.legacysti.com/viewtopic.php?t=126 It looks x1000 better freshly washed in person. It is a true pearl. I would have gotten the blue pearl (which is sweet) but they only had it as 2.5i and I wanted the 2.0r. Saw the white and it is increadibly sweet. White is the best colour IMHO.
Black is out for sunny Florida weather.
That's what I thought until I got the '97 GT. A sunscreen in the front window, dark tint (as dark as is legal) all-round and I'm fine. If I know it won't rain I'll leave the sunroof half open and the windows cracked. Even when I leave it all closed up I just open the windows and the sunroof and it is fine in 1/2 a block! Besides, black looks so BAD!

Responding to two posts above... In my since sold Prelude, I was able to crack the moonroof and never see drop one of rain. It made an incredible difference in temperature when getting in the car. Two, I did see some nice pics of the Atlantic Blue on an OB earlier today. I would post a link, but NASIOC seems to be down at the moment.
