gtwannabe
Got a CEL, and I know there is a way to read the codes on the dash. I found two sets of plugs under the dash above the fuse block. One set is green and the other is white. I also located the test connector under the rug on pass. side . So what now? I tried plugging them in different ways and got nothing. HELP! BTW the car is an 05 Legacy GT
Spec B
umm...I think you need an AP or some kind of physical connection to the ECU and a PC and software to be able to read the code. I don;t believe it just shows up on the dash.
ilh
White. And yes, it does just "show up on the the dash." http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2895

melayout
They may have been removed post-05 model years, but if you find the "White" connectors, then it should work. I keed I keeed
gtwannabe
That worked. Had the right wires just didn't know about pushing the trip button on sweep. I got a code P0021 which is Intake Camshaft Position Timing to advanced. Probably the valve is sticking. Any idea if this is an easy fix? I hate to take it to the dealer if I can fix this. mickeyd2005
IIRC, this "feature" was deleted in '06 so it only works with '05 cars.

ilh
My white connectors were well hidden and taped way up above the fuse panel. I could have sworn they weren't in there, but they were.

D0WNxSH1FT
Our 05 OBXT requires the green and white to both be plugged in for this to work. I dunno why it requires test mode...ah well it still works great.
