ToddMcF2002
I think I'm going to put in a Prosport mechanical boost guage. I've used vampire/crimp style taps in the past but I'm thinking of using the fuse box for easy disconnect. I was going to put this in fuse 20 (Cigarette lighter socket) - and crimp tap off of that for future guages / accessories. Thoughts? http://www.anythinggps.com/ProductImages/installations/Fuse.Tap.Mini.jpg

ToddMcF2002
Thanks for the input. I got the cubby assembly out and the panels under the stearing column removed. It was pretty strait forward so I see no complications doing this mod. Of course I havent bought the guage yet so I had to put everything back together! pattypat
Just got done installing an auotmeter boost gauge. I used the same thing although I used the illumination fuse #16. Works great turns on and off with the headlights. I'm sure the cigarette light fuse will work just as well. Also do the prosports have a ground wire? If so the screw to the fuse panel works for a ground.
scottmcphee
So you put this in a spare fuse slot, or existing fuse slot and put that original fuse piggyback on this thing... ? Where'd you get it - any car shop?
GTTuner
Just make sure that circuit is able to handle the load your asking it to. Anything 15 amp or under you will be fine. If your trying to run in excess of 20-25 amps, find a good fused ignition output capable of 30 amps.
pattypat
Use the illumination slot that way the guage light turns on and off with your headlights. I put a 10 amp and 5 amp in the back of the fuse "extension".
