Atroz
Hi, Is it possible to paint the Subaru splash guards, and keep the paint on them? I'd be looking at only the back side (not the 'business' side). I asked my dealer about this and was told the paint wouldn't stay on. The flaps would flex and the impact of stones would knock the paint off the back. I was hoping that a flexible paint, like used on the bumper, would do the trick. It didn't seem to me that the guards would flex much as they are not very big. Any experience? Thanks.
SuperhawkLGT
You could paint them or any body shop can do it, no problem.
rc0032
JapanParts carries painted ones -> you could win them http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49165
Atroz
You could paint them or any body shop can do it, no problem. This was a dealer with a body shop. I'm not sure if the salesguy asked the parts dept or the paint dept though. Perhaps he wasn't clear that it was only the backs? I was quoted $120 Cdn (~$100 US) to paint them. That seemed like a bit much anyway. I can do them myself if I need to later.
Gire
The quote sounds right. Painting my JDM spats cost about that. Painting (any) mudflaps make them stick out like sore thumbs though (IMHO)... the risk of cracking and flaking would steer me away from doing it too... RLY? I was thinking that matching colour with the body would make them disappear.
