b_h_87
I got a CEL and went to a shop and they got the code P0301 which i found out is cylinder 1 misfire....but i have questions? 1. How do i know if a sparkplug is defected? 2. Does a boost controller have anything to do w/ a cylinder misfire? thanks
Legacy05
Not sure about the boost controller, but when I got that code it meant my fuel injector was going bad ... you could have them switch 1 and 2 around to see if you throw a P0302 code ... if you car is idling rough, more than likely your injector has gone to ish! I have had 3 go bad.
scoobydrew
Easiest start is: get rid of the BC, then swap coil packs and wait for it to come back. If the same cyl. shows, you know it's not the coil. Then swap injectors. ProTUNED by RaminiSports
b_h_87
Well i could get rid of the BC ...but its an EBC...so its not even on?...so should that still matter than?...and also is checking/replacing an fuel injector a garage prjoect? or is it to complicated for it? Opie
Cylinder misfire codes can be caused by a mulitude of things, plug, coil, injector, bad ring land, bad valve spring, timing off, etc. Boost controllers can cause bad ring lands (overboosted)....take it off...then start simple, swap coils if code returns on the same cylinder swap plugs and so on until you isolate the problem.
