wbcustoms
Don't know. Light works with the switch manually, but the light won't turn on when I open the doors. Been this way since I bought it. Is the light supposed to come on when I unlock it with the remote? Is there a timer module or something to replace? Any help thanks- B
ZinFreak
Sounds like a operating system problem. You need to reinstall Windows... Hmm, sorry no ideas on specifics, but I think you are on the right track with a timing circuit. It should come on with the unlock via key fob or doors opening and stay on for a period of time. You have an '05 bring it to the dealer and let the fix it, unless you've hit the mileage limit for warranty. -Zin 06 LGT LTD GRP 5MT 07 FXT LTD OBP 4EAT
scottmcphee
it's a 3-way switch, make sure it's in the "door" position and not in the totally "off" position

msmith
I actually had the opposite problem... my dome light refused to turn off in the "door" position... required replacing the body control module (BCM) which turned into a total cluster when the idiot dealer couldn't reprogram my keys to the new BCM and had to order new keys. NSFW
If you mean the light over the rear seats: that's on a 3-position switch, so it's either on, off, or on-if-the-doors-are-open. If you mean the lights over the front seats: that's on a 2-position switch, so it's either on or off. There is no on-if-doors-are-open option. wbcustoms
3 way switch huh? Yea its not that. Thanks, but I think it's a module somewhere. When I open the doors, the only light that comes on is the one under the actual door. No dome lights come on at all. If I open the rear hatch, the rear light will come on, but nothing up front. I can switch the dome light on and off, the 3RD position, does nothing. I dunno i'm gonna take it in.
