Bye-bye lgt hello V70R

Recommended Posts

Well I must say that it is good to see the GT go.

Subaru-

Your build quality blows - Mine Seems Good

Your paint chips away. - Wax your damn car

your dashboard ratttles - Not mine

your rear defroster sucks - Mine works good

your stuttering turbo - Good tune fixes that

your weak sause brakes - $100 Pads do wonders

your crappy seats - I love my heated seats

your clunking front ends - Huh

your high price - I paid 24.5 for mine shop around and BTW you just paid more than that for an older car that is more than likely slower and not as good looking IMO

and your low book resale - Havent even looked into this i like my car too much

Hello 04 V70R

sweet seats - Dont really know

real paint - Pretty sure my paint is real

sweet everything - Kinda vague isnt it

sweden rocks - Move there then

04 29k

27,200--got 18400 for a 05 lgt ltd sedan - I wouldnt sell my car for that and neither should you have!

the car is 3x the lgt - Seriously think thats an overstatement it should be nicer it is almost twice the price

anyone beg to differ?????????????????? - what a dumb question your on the LGT site

^^^^^^

I just thank god for my subaru and the fact that I do not have to live with that the rest of my life.

So complain away until you get your lesson on the subaru brakes and how good they work when you really need them

I especially like this one:

The car kicks ass.

Hey, they can't all be winners.

Glad you found the right car to better fit your needs.

Of what??? the V70r, or of Geddyup in Philt's rearview mirror?

:icon_mrgr

Wow. I just searched Google and learned the v70r is an ugly vovlo. By the name "V-70R", it sounds like an exotic sports car--Which is why I wanted pics of it.

Wait..you went from a Subaru Symmetrical AWD to Haldex? :(

I hope it is what you really want.

Good luck with everything though, and best wishes.

enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.

HOLY sH1T- MAJOR pwnage from da suub!! Wow, after reading both of those links/posts.. you'd think someone might have a bit more "class" while exiting the forum. Geddyup, I can't say that I'm "glad" you found a car that better suits you. I've owned 2 volvos- 940GL (think it stood for "good-luck") and an 850. Yup, both had real comfy seats. Maint. bills however added up quickly, and unless you know someone who knows someone, the parts aint exactly cheap. So, good luck on the swedish forums!!:icon_wink

A friend of mine has a new V70R. I'm going to drive it in a week or two. But ownership costs of Volvos - especially this model. You'll never forget you're in a V70R - there are "R's" everywhere.

geddyup was the member who asked me to hold them and to consider them sold. I got a really shady feeling from his emails... He say says he bought a volvo V70R and then offered to sell me used parts from his legacy. Its just really bad form to have someone hold parts for you and then bail out nearly a month after the fact with out an apology.

Just an hour ago my Dad and I were heading south from my office to where I live.

A few miles down the road we were passing the hospital. There is a light there and its on a bend on the road. There is a left turn lane and a straight lane. There was a person turning left and I was going straight. The light was green and had been since we came around the bend. The speed limit was 45 and 50 feet after passing the light it turns 55

So just before we hit the intersection we peg the gas starting at 35. The car learched forward then I saw the sledneck right in front of me1/10 of a second I jamb on the brakes. The car kicks ass. The brakes (which are the largest stock ever besides the sti brembos) saved 2 lives. My reaction time and the brakes saved 2 people from death. I still cannot believe I am not at the site of a horrific crash.

I turned around and the guy was parking his sled at the hospital. I told him he and his daughter should be dead and he said they should have been killed and he was crying. I told him I should call the sheriff but his lesson was learned the hard way.

I just thank god for my subaru and the fact that I do not have to live with that the rest of my life.

I wish you the best with the Volvo. Hopefully you strung for extended warranty.

The build quality is better in interior however drivetrain/mechanicals is not promising. I asked a master level Volvo mechanic when considering a Volvo built in last 5 years.

On resale if it was so bad why did you burn yourself selling it.

Otherwise enjoy the Volvo V70R is a great car.

I will still miss running with my neighbors 2006 911....

Oh, please tell us about that! Maybe you went so fast you burned the paint off your Legacy on reentry?

as a matter of fact just yesterday I had to travel to Salmon Idaho.

From Ketchum it is 184 miles of clean fast pavement. I left at 5 am and drove pretty much the speed limit(Elk, deer, antelope, wolf, cows, and many other creatures rome) and it took 3 hour 5 minutes.

Now keep in mind this road follows the salmon River 140 miles of the trip.

the way back was 2 hours 21 minutes. I hammered the fricken car so hard. I was shifting up and down and up and down and around and around. Coming out of corners only to be going 80 in third coming into the the 35mph corner. And I just took off my ssr gt7 18x8 the day before. And it was all done on the re-92s and stock wheels.

The Lemhi's were looking oh so good.

yes the car was very fast. i have pegged the spedo at least 30 times. It also handled well but the car is still built in Indiana by a bunch of brainless people.

This based on your vast ownership experience of what - three weeks? three weeks into owning your LGT you were teary-eyed over the brakes!

I think you have mnade a BIG mistake. You seem much more the BMW owner type! Butwhy are you still here - shouldn't you be over at swedespeed.com, basking in the reflected love of all your fellow Socialists?

I will be back only if subaru improves their build quality issues and they add an 09 legacy sti wagon.

Seems he accomplished what he set out to in stirring the pot before he left. Good luck with the Volvo I hope you like it as much as the Legacy.

Agreed... this one is done.

Enjoy your new car, geddyup. Best wishes.
