djsauce
I keep seeing "Alacantra" with a registered trademark symbol. I want to know more about this material but I can't figure out whom makes it? Anyone?

Boulderguy
Does it have a "TM" or an ® symbol? They may be only registered in a state rather than in the fed system. Not sure how to search that. Or could be int'l.

biz77
Then how come their promo stuff uses the word alcantara for seats? http://www.drivesubaru.com/Sum06_News_specB.htm Hmmm. I hadn't noticed that. My 2005 STi made explicit mention of escaine as the blue suede-like insert in the seats. I wonder why they switched for 2007. Did the 2006 STi boast Alcantara or escaine? I notice the 2007 model STI, as well as the Spec. B as pointed out, shows Alcantara. And it appears the correct spelling is ECSAINE. It is made by Toray industries out of Japan.
