c-lo
after looking at Xenonk's post, I'm debating what size tires to get. Car may be getting dropped on H-techs this weekend, and in a month or so, new tires. should I keep the same size tire, or plus size in get better traction, or what else could I do? 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

c-lo
17 or 18" ? stocks. love to go 18, but not possible now. I'd also like to keep the semi low profile. KNow I'll lose some of that, but don't want it to look rediculous 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
PGT
pick up some 215/45/17 Falken Ziex 512 or Kumho ASX. They're both better than stock and cheap.
Xenonk
225/45/17 is your answer, there's a larger tire selection in that size. Keefe

Waxiboy
If I were to stick with 17", I'd go 225/45/17. I got Ziex 512 on my wife's Protege and I think they are a bit noisy. Grip is better than the stock Dunlop sp5000.
rougeben83
get as much tire as youcan get away with without rubbing...225's all the way.
TSiWRX
I agree with brother Keefe on going with the 225s for a bigger footprint and better selection. I also agree with brother PGT in that doing so will cause you to give up a bit of foul-weather traction. However, I think that based on at least the Falken ZIEX ZE-512, the trade-off in getting more footprint (and better dry traction) is worth it, particularly given the Falken's outstanding hydroplaning resistance, and it's decent capabilities in both snow and slush. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
MOTOP
I heard good things about Kumho ASX. Placed an order several days ago. Set me back $356.38. That is for stock size.
