rkl303
I think I am going to change out my tranny and differential fluid this coming weekend(assuming I get my oil in time) and I was wondering if anyone has the torx t70 bit locally. I would pick one up on ebay but I couldnt find it. Thanks. Richard
mickeyd2005
I think autobarn has it cheaper than ebay. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000GKEYIS/yahoo-auto-20/ref=nosim[/ame] Hopefully, someone can lend you one.
RockyMtnGT
Don't have a Torx sorry, but here is a pretty good write up to follow. Even though it's for a Forester, hopefully it makes things a little easier. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-3091.html
ronburgandy21
Most auto stores, like autozone will rent out tools for free. You have to put a deposit down until it is returned. Check it out.

Infymus
I looked everywhere for a T70 bolt. Only place I could finally find one was off a Snap-On-Tools truck. I'm serious I went everywhere, pep boys, dealer, Sears, AutoZone, Auto Parts, specialty bolt stores - nobody had it. When I called Snap On and got a truck and asked for the T70, the guy actually said, "Oh, you must own a Subaru!" because they were one of the only companies carrying them. Paid I think $38 bucks for it. I have two Legacy GT's so it's quite handy for that bolt.

rkl303
Autobarn ships way too slow. Weekend rolls through and still no bit (day 6). +1 for summit racing as they got the fluids to me in 3 days with basic shipping. +1 for brakeswap for sending me the right parts at a exceptional price. Anyways I ended up using a T60 bit as the subie mech in my friends shop said that is what he always used. I would not recommend it as I was pissing in my pants when the screw broke loose but I got it free. In terms of feel I can't notice that much but I am always bad at noticing things and I still haven't bedded in in the pads. I will have the bit if anyone needs to use it in future . mickeyd2005
Hey, sorry for recommending Autobarn! I have never ordered from them before, but I thought they would be more reliable than eBay sellers. I guess not. FYI, for other people who need a T-70 Torx, I bought mine from autopartsmart on eBay. 3 day turnaround for a Lisle brand made in USA socket. rkl303
NP mickeyd2005. You should have seen the amount of packaging they wasted for such a small durable part. It's really pathetic IMO. I also got a lead that Napa on Tejon and Dartmouth also had it at the time but they closed about 2 hours before I got there. But I finished the job and now have a spare bit for future use.
2006Specb122
Hey Subaru dealers should sell the T70! ANyone ask a dealer? Then again...if they sold the tool then they would miss a chance to charge $300 for the gear oil change!!!!
don grande
Anyone know where I can buy a T-65? The T-60 is too small and the T-70 is too big. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
mickeyd2005
The T70 isn't too big. You need to make sure that it is going in perpendicular. Lots of people (including myself) have used the T70.
2006Specb122
don grande first post.... welcome to the forum. If you are using it for the same thing we're talking about then you shouldn't need anything but the T70. That should be the correct tool. I can't remember where I found it...maybe I had to get it on ebay...but not sure. It worked so fast and so great I forgot all about it...but my gear oil is redline now!
