Stock tweeter location bad???

I've seen in some threads people saying the stock tweeter location on a LGT is not ideal, but I can't find the reasoning why. I am going to be upgrading my speakers and am trying to decide what to do - a better set of components or just go 2 way. Why do people say this? Thanks!

No complaints with my infinity perfects.

Good to hear (no pun intended:lol: ). Your car, your ears, sounds good to you.

However, from a technical and grassroutes point of view, the stock tweeter locations should be avoided for normal crossover range tweeter applications.

ignore him, he'll go away.

i found the stock location horrible. one day i was fiddling with my crossover so i had to take off my door panel. i had the music playing at a lower volume, but as soon as the panel came off, the high-freq.s from the tweeter just shined like 10x more. this persuaded me to make my own fiberglass tweeter pods on my dash... problem solved.
