I thought $1000 was the going rate? =) the tires on this set would be 225/45/17, Kumbo ECSTA MX Extreme Performance Summer. like i said, the rubber is brand new, is that a fair price. Actually I was joking around, but for a set of STIs with crappy rubber like that on them, then yea, I'd say $1000, plus shipping. But, that's just me, not everyone is as picky as I am about good rubber. I paid $1000 total for a set of five wheels, brand new, with the Saabaru BBS RK 17x7 wrapped with 225/45/17 Bridgestone RE 050As, not including balancing, and that rubber wipes the tarmac with the kumhos. $100 each for each wheel and each tire. You can still get this deal on my setup, btw. Why noone is interested is beyond me.
RochNY91TSI
Too much money. I picked up a mint set of silver sti bbs's on ebay for 760 shipped, and a set of 235 s-03 pole positions from tirerack for 500. Total of ~1200 for wider tires and better rubber. Keep shopping

tantal
got any pics? I don't. But I will try to get some today if I have time. There is definately a picture of someone's black GT wagon with these wheels on it. Love it, myself, but it's a germanic wheel and I guess not everyone digs that look. For the performance and weight, you can't beat the price for either these wheels or these tires (BBS RK and 050A). Not even close.
tytek
a lot of money for BBS with cheap tires. there a lot of other, better options at that price range... offer him $1000 and see what happens. what are you going to do with the stockers? tantal
maybe because they are 17x7, not forged and don't fit Brembo's. Just a thought. Good points, but not all of us have unlimited budgets for our grocery getters. I'd much rather invest in a chassis that can slow down less in corners, like my miata, anyway. Why anyone would track such a heavy, understeering car without sponsorship is also beyond me. Anyway, to each his own. I have a fabulous setup for the price. You can't touch it for close to this amount of money. That's all I'm trying to say, enjoy your laugh. =)

The going price for a mint, used set of 17x7.5 forged 16.5lb STI BBS with competent tires is $1000. Give or take a little depending on the rubber. Besides....some of us like the look of the ten spoke vs. the older RK's and you can't put a price on aesthetics.

And I point out that you obviously spend a lot more money on your car than I do - it wasn't a jab at you. Also, looks have nothing to do with a good deal or bad deal, or whether a wheel is forget or cast, or what width it is. Also, I don't disagree with $1000 for this set, I was arguing with whether it was worth $1400, and because of the crappy rubber, I feel it isn't. As an aside my RK's weigh under 18 lbs, iirc. Sorry if you feel I'm criticising.
