CiViCKiDD
Honestly, i'm impressed. It was in "Sport Mode" the whole time which kept it in a gear lower than "normal", and in the 5 minute test drive under stop and go conditions it did really well in my opinion. I'm just so used to driving stick right now that i'm afraid i'll get bored really quickly after getting into an automatic...on the other hand it IS more convenient as an "everyday" car. Blah...not only do I not know what transmission I want, I don't even know which car I want (WRX TR can definitely be had for $23k OTD here in NJ, Legacy 2.5i SE is $21k OTD, both stick).. AKLGT
well, prior to the LGT, i ONLY DROVE STICK! however, because i spend 80% of the day in my car, i figured i'd go with an AT this time, especially since it had the sport shift mode and manual shift modes. stop and go traffic is so much easier now. with having this 5EAT, i plan to keep it as my daily driver and go with a 6MT roadster (most likely) as my weekend/fun/autox car next. If i didn't have to drive so much during the day than i'd go back to a 6MT as my daily driver. Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!

AKLGT
i'm in outside sales. i go from one appt to another all day long 6 days a week. currently have about 22K miles on the car with 1 yr of ownership and the car sat immobile for about 2 months (vacation and lately driving the company vehicle to try and keep the miles/wear and tear off the LGT). almost all city driving, not town to town. stop and go. stop and go.... kills me on fuel economy! CiViCKiDD
4EAT, my mistake (shows how much I know about the automatic)... And yes, I know the WRX has more HP than the 2.5i.. For those who have owned or been in both for extended amounts of time, is the plain old 2.5i SE as comfy (or more) than the WRX / WRX TR? I too have been driving more than usual (drove 35k miles in the last 17 months) and my back's been killing me lately (and i'm only 26 and in shape, so it's definitely not old age.. .. the seats in my 99 civic aren't exactly the most comfortable )
deimos
Unless you really need the style or size of the 2.5i, the WRX will pwn the sh1t out of it which would take the cake for me if its pretty much the same money.
Rommel
WRX and the 2.5i are totally different cars. WRX has the power that the 2.5i doesn't have but the 2.5i has the comfort that the WRX don't have.

SLegacy99
if you want power and comfort get the GT True. I dunno bout the new gen of Imprezas but my bro's '01 RS just wasnt put together as well as my Legacy. Pieces like the window switches or center consoles came loose or had tabs on them that broke. I have yet to sit in a Subaru that had uncomfortable seats. I feel that they rival the seats of any of the luxury cars my parents have had.
