Garandman
Boston craigslist is outstanding for buying bikes. I always look for equipment bargains there and eBay but especially for lights I usually wind up buying discontinued or sale stuff from somepace like Nashbar. Some of the new 5 LED headlights work great in continuous or flashing modes. Who Dares Wins スバル
MIKEBRAVO
21 speed? are you looking for a downhill bike? What size do you need? I have a Spealized FSR with Manitou Minute forks Fox rear, But it is 9 speed. It better then starter but not high end, by TODAYS Standards If you can afford College, you probably don't need to go. BDII
check out MTBR.com too. they have a classified section I appreciate the link, but there seearch engine sucks and the prices are HIGH!! even on preowned bikes... I am leaning towards the 07 StumpJumper FSR ($2700). If I buy it online, I save $300, but I dont get a discount on parts or free tuning and cleaning for life like I would get from my local dealer. lgtsoon
go to the local dealer. if you find a decent shop the 300 extra you spend will be made up in the service and parts discounts. besides some shops won't give you much of a break on service or parts when they know you bought it through mail order. just my .

If this bike has the Dual Control levers then skip it and buy a closeout '06 model, save a few bucks and get a better brake/shifting system. Shimano's ability to $^&* up a perfectly good system never ceases to amaze me. Guess they're just trying to funnel the money to themselves rather than other brake lever makers. RF+ FTW! hal9e3
Jeez, what am I thinking? If you're looking for a sweet deal on a FS bike I'm selling mine. It's a 99-00 Santa Cruz Superlight size M (or maybe L, I'll have to check it but I'm 5'8" and it fits me great) w/ the following components: Rock Shox Sid XC fork Fox Float-R shock Mavic Crossride wheels XT front/9-sp XTR rear derailleurs Avid Mag V-brakes and levers Shimano LX Rapidfire+ shifters Easton carbon fiber seatpost and handlebar RaceFace forged crank, 175mm, 22/32/44 rings Chris King Rasta Aheadset Easton Mag Stem Serfas seat (don't remember which model) Salsa skewers Speedplay Frog Ti pedals not included but available Bike is yellow w/ primarily black decals and components and is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. Oh, yeah, weight: 24 lb.!!!I'm selling it because I'm looking for something a little more mellow and less direct in its handling. You couldn't TOUCH a bike like this for less than $4K new and I could part it out for at least $1500 according to the LBS so I'll sell it for that, plus shipping or local pickup. BD2 you're D/FW right? We can arrange to meet at a local trail and I'll even give you a 30-minute warranty. Take the bike out for 30 minutes, and if you don't like it and bring it back undamaged I'll refund youre money. You can't beat that deal! Haven't posted this yet because I'm too lazy to wash it but it's going on eBay/elsewhere this weekend.
